I own a Gateway but I can't recommend it anymore. CFW is free, can play GBA games, and doesn't have malware that bricks your console if it sees a modified launcher.

I bought my gateway back in 2013 and its saved me hundreds of dollars so I'm not even mad.
The only thing that bothers me atm is that I can't install GBA games while CFW can.

Big Blue Menu, Dev Menu, or FBI. Install the DLC as .cia files from there and they'll be saved on the SD card like you would have got them on e-shop.
