Eh, there've been more than enough Mega Man games. They made shitloads of them. Even if you just look at the decent/good ones, that's like 20+ games you could play. I like Mega Man a lot but I've never understood the mentality that franchises need to go on forever. Sometimes it's better to know when to let something go before it gets retarded,
Legends 3 is the only thing I'm mildly annoyed by because the Legends series was kind of its own thing and I don't feel its been as thoroughly explored as most other Mega Man subseries. But even then I'm not that assmad about it, aside from the way Capcom handled the whole situation.

X is definitely the peak of the series I think. X2 is still really good though, it just doesn't do anything special. And out of the post-SNES era, X4 is a lot of fun as well for the most part.
X3 I think is the worst. There were a couple stages that just weren't fun at all, new additions like Zero and the X upgrade chips were counterintuitive and retarded, and I felt the backtracking crossed a line from the fun exploration of the first two into just tedious time wasting for the most part, but that might just be me. And you're right about the music, Blizzard Buffalo's stage has one of the worst BGMs in Mega Man, period. It's really fun when you finally get the gold armour and have all that mobility and shit, but that's practically the end of the game.
I mean, X3 is still an okay game but compared to X, X2, and X4 it's really flawed.
