Now that /pol/ has officially reached it's peak ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLRbW6NRbfI ) , I was wondering, what's the greatest achievement in the history of /v/ ?

What was the biggest golden moment this board has experienced?

Well there's not many golden moments but there are shining moments and some fun that I'd enjoyed. I really liked playing /v/irgin quest back in I think 2012. Because it captured the state of the board at the time, had fun with itself, and the areas were really rad. I also remember the stop bullying comics. Man, those were a hoot.

As an /x/phile, i have been studying /pol/ for some time.
They seemed to be the first board to master meme magic.
The first board to utilize it was /tv/ when it bane posted a plane down. This was pure accident.
The first foray however into organized meme magic was Ebola chan.
Everyday since then, the memes have become more and more real. Not only did this happen, but c,uckservative was said live on CNN.
Zimmerman became a pompous unapologetic asshole/badass, much like /pol/'s description of him.
Even Ben Garrison reluctantly embraced his fame, and started drawing pepe's.

I still wasnt certain about the power a chinese cartoon image board wielded until one day at work.
The same day the mizzou protests were in full swing, i met an indian woman named Alapoop.

/pol/ wields dark and powerful magic.

Reminder that /v/ has never banded together to make a videogame.

Many other boards can be credited with such, but not /v/.

Closest there ever will be was the Broquest shit, and that was ruined forever by over ambition and /v/ chasing off anyone actually involved or willing to get involved.

Not a visual novel, or text adventure, or RPG maker creation. Nothing can be credited as a videogame created by "members from 4chans /v/".

/v/irgin quest was a thing. Although it was more like one person working on it and then a bunch of people all throwing suggestions at once. But I think /v/ is just too fast for anything to really get done unless it's a person already doing something asking for suggestions.

The other chan was working on Anton & Coolpecker as a 3D platformer but after a while that went off the radar and probably isn't going to be finished. They were halfway done with a sequel to 7th Stand User that takes place in part 4, but no one has heard about that either. Even though that board is so much slower it's just hard to get people motivated once people have to actually do something other than throw out suggestions and draw pictures.

Well didn't that happen with the last musical aswell? The problem is that even though they necromancer the thread for a week past release its practically dead no one gives feedback and the hype and motivation is dead. Its best to start earlier but even then its still gonna be near the end because you have to wait for the music to finish. Not to mention that a good singer can fart out a few songs in an hour where as a good videobro might take 2 days if he works fast for one video. Also they just need more video editors to begin with.

Though I'm sure quite a few of them are just lazy and or perfectionist assholes. Its a meme musical the videos don't need to take months to make.

I still visit cripplechan when 4chan's servers are down, but it's much slower.

On paper it's a nice concept-- let people make their own boards, and let the board creators choose how they want to moderate them beyond the global rules. In practice though, it leaves global moderators stretched thin, and board owners often times do a shit job of enforcing the rules themselves, which is especially bad if something illegal gets posted. It's like trying to be a not-shitty version of Reddit but without the administrative staff to make it work-- and if they had that many admins, it would end up being corrupted with agenda pushers just like Reddit.

The biggest problem though is just plain not enough users. There are like hundreds of boards which have only 1 or 2 active users, if that.

From my experience with family members who want to vote for him, they don't actually LISTEN to any of his policies. My whole family assumes he'd be the perfect president because he's a businessman and he's stubborn/doesn't take shit from anyone. They don't actually watch him speak or listen to his plans.

Personally, I think Trump is intentionally trying to see how stupid he can get up on the podium in order to sabotage himself, because maybe he thought about it some more and decided he didn't want the presidency taking up all his time. It's the only way that it makes sense to me for someone, especially someone who managed to make as much money as he has, to be THAT stupid.
>>
>>320214396

But it is. His plans to build a wall on the border is logistically impossible. He either A) Knows that, and is straight faced lying to get votes or B) Is actually dumb enough to think he could strong arm the government into approving that.

I know A already happens but he takes it to a whole new level.

TORtanic ruined us because ever since then, everything is expected to be the next TORtanic. We can't actually discuss games anymore, because it's all about finding the next big flop. People had so much fun mocking that game's failure that they completely lost their taste for actual vidya discussion, and this place became a shithole for discussing industry drama instead. They had to make /vg/ (and /vr/, which is kind of dead now) just so people could have actual unironic discussions about games, with /v/ being the containment board where people spout memes, dump images and shitpost about the industry.

/v/ is such an active board that it was always just held together by paperclips and string, but TORtanic was ultimately too much for us. Ironically, TOR ended up being the iceberg, and /v/ is the boat that ran into it with the expectation of watching the iceberg sink.

If we ignored SJWs, they wouldn't BE a problem.
SJWs are only a problem because businesses and organizations attempt to cater to them because they're very vocal and will not hesitate to cause bad PR for those businesses, or so they think. In reality, the word of SJWs matters little.

If businesses ignored SJWs (thereby no longer pandering to them) there would be no more problem. SJWs would just be another group of crazy ramblers like the mole-people theorists.
The entire problem IS the fact that people pay attention to them.

Well his plan isn't THAT stupid.

Imagine a line representing the people who vote. You have the left and right wing lined up along it. As a politician, you pick a spot on the line and tell people that's where you are; your opponent does the same. If you are the closest candidate to a person, they vote for you.

If you want to appeal to the MOST people, you always aim for the middle. So during these prelims, you aim for the middle of the republican line. Later, during the actual election, you aim for the middle of the whole electorate.

So right now, Trump is aiming for that middle line of the republican party.

We already have a law that says we are supposed to build a wall. Trump just wants to enforce it. He doesn't even need to work with congress to do half the things he wants, because Congress has already passed laws for most of them. The problem is that we have a president who sits on his hands whenever he's supposed to do something that goes against his ideology, therefore only enforces laws when he likes them, especially if he can twist them into something that supports his agenda.

After Bush DESTROYED the republican party by putting up one of the most panned and hated presidencies in recent times, republicans have had no idea how to run and the past 2 elections (and now this one) have solely been appealing to the craziest most extremist base of theirs, that they don't even have to pander to because they'd never vote anything but republican anyways. It'd be like if democrats tried to do nothing but pander to the extreme SJWs. Of course you're going to lose elections when your entire podium is ultra polarizing ideas like "ban all porn" and "deport all immigrants" and "We need to go to war with Islam"

Trump is literally everything wrong with Americans, yet you people suck his cock constantly. Why the double standard when the average American /v/irgin with his opinions gets laughed at?
>>
>>320215293
I fail to see how acknowledging that SJWs are real proves you right.

The US has banned all sorts of groups from immigrating into the country many times before.

It is not a new concept, nor is it unconstitutional (aliens are not citizens and do not have constitutional rights).
>>
>>320215339
Well there's another factor at play here and that's the fact that there are multiple candidates right now.

(I think, I'm goddamn Australian)

If they all have relatively similar policies while Trump appeals to everyone else then Trump will still win just because everyone else splits the vote. Trump may moderate his stance later once the crowd thins out a little.
>>
>>320215339

Yet his poll numbers keep rising.

Shocking, I know.

Israel has a wall, it does its job and isn't astronomically expensive.
>deport illegals
President Eisenhower did it during his term, and it worked
>ban on muslim immigration
Not permanently, just until the situation with ISIS is figured out. Or would you rather more people like those in San Bernardino or the ones who attacked Paris get in to the country?
>>
>>320215668
Because I didn't act like a neocon /pol/tard which seems to be the expected norm here in this circlejerk of a site.
>>
>>320215715
Israel is much smaller than the U.S.
There were fewer people in the U.S. at that time.
Even after ISIS gets sorted out, those people are still crazy and have a toxic culture anyway, so I'd actually be in favor of keeping out people from middle eastern shitholes if that were viable, which it is not.
>>
>>320215715
Actually trump wants to deport "anchor babies" as well, who are here legally, so technically Trump wants to change the law to deport legal immigrants

That is a scary slippery slope. Also declaring basically war on islam is a good way to be a non-existant country in 20 years
>>
>>320215668
What are you talking about. The pubs have been cannibalizing themselves since the end of the bush years. Even people on the right have been saying so for years.

I don't think you fully understand how cold most of America is toward Islam.

His recommendation to ban Muslims from entering the USA has made his poll numbers spike by about 10%:

>>
>>320215715
How would you even manage to keep muslims out?
Couldn't an ISIS member just reply "no" when asked if they're muslim at the border?
Is Trump just going to ban all people with a middle-eastern accent? All people with dark skin?

What kind of test could Trump possibly come up with that could not be easily circumvented by a determined terrorist? Even if all middle-easterners were banned, there are plenty of Caucasian terrorists to fill the roles.

Currently Ted Cruz is Trump's closest rival, and they have similar stances on many issues. Cruz is a bit set apart because he's the only one who hasn't attacked Trump. Trump recently made an incendiary remark about Cruz, and honestly I think he is testing the water. He got some backlash from some conservatives (including the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin, who have otherwise consistently defended Trump on their radio shows), and Cruz did not fire back.

I think Trump will moderate his rhetoric towards Cruz more carefully going forward. There was a genuine expectation that if Trump got the nomination that Cruz would be on his shortlist, which would please many people who are skeptical of Trump's conservative credentials. He stands to lose a lot of base brownie points if he attacks Cruz too hard.

Actually discrimination and profiling is against US law, even if the person is not a citizen. Aliens do have rights in the country. If they didn't, cops could shoot them en masse since they don't have the right to live.

No, because your opinion is based off ignorance and tribalism.

The democrats did not win in 2012 by a landslide. They won by a meager few %. The notion that the democrats are invincible is the #1 weakness of the DNC.

Do you even realize how many state legislature, house and senate seats the democrats have lost under the Obama administration?

>>320216149
Nope, read the Constitution. We can ban whoever the fuck we want because foreigners are not American citizens.

There are muslims working in the secret service, the fbi, cia, SWAT, All police forces, military bases etc. Hell there's probably a Muslim who is on standby duty to launch fucking nukes.

How do you think basically declaring war on a group of people already ALL UP in yo government, is a good idea. They would sabotage and destroy you from within in a year.

It's risk reduction. You can't stop every bad guy and nothing short of total population lobotomization will.
You can, however, reduce the risk of a bad guy getting into the country by barring the largest portion of Islamic terror from entering the country.
