Bethesda are lazy fucks and I'm angry about it, so here's a cursory attempt at a semi-comprehensive list at irritating things in Fallout 4.

I have a special kneecapper plasma rifle for ghouls, I can usually blow their leg off in 2 shot on very hard, and they still need another 5 or 6 to die.

The settlement side of the game would have been a great way to add longevity, giving you something to do when you're sick of dungeon diving, or when you're so OP and loaded with gear there's no reason to do it anymore. as regards to the PC port, it's an entirely new low by Bethesda and I genuinely wonder why they even bother porting it in the first place.

It really shows how much they care about the modding community, that keeps their shit games afloat for years after release, when they made it so you must enable file selection in the .ini and even then there is a bugged launcher icon for it. It's an invisible button located under the T-60 helmet's right eye, the fuck? And how long has this game been in development for? Why the fuck is the GECK not releasing until January?

no FOV slider, forced mouse accel, input lag, laggy shitty shadows, forced 60 FPS lock, awful UI seemingly designed to fuck over anyone using M&KB, it's completely unacceptable. It's a total slap in the face to everyone who plays on PC, and I hate how many cunts are defending Bethesda and this shallow watered down open world Call of Duty shitfest.

But robots take less damage from headshots. Try using VATS and switching between head and body to see how much damage a shot will do. Also, I think Deathclaws take the most damage if you hit them in their soft underbelly

I forgot about godrays, they are broken for nvidia users as well. I have a 970 and I get massive stuttering and 10 FPS loss from them.

The vertibirds are a fucking joke, they even get easily taken down by random raiders so easily.
I think Bethesda just plainly forgot to scale them according to how the rest of the world was scaled.

And they constantly explode randomly because of their shitty pathfinding. They clip on some random building parts and explode. I've seen them one explode as soon as they took off or fucking crash when there was no enemies at all to focus on while traveling.

I heard Bethesda even based their movement mechanics directly from Skyrim's Dragons.

Saying Bethesda is lazy is an understatement. They just took a look at what games were selling in recent years and just shoved it into their unfocused mess of a game. Fallout 4 may as well have been a collaboration project between Bioware, Gearbox, Mojang and some independent modders. The only original content Bethesda put in 4 was their autistic writing.

I was never freak out of dying because of rads in even 3 though, 4 they can easily kill you wheras previously they were an annoyance with limited sources of rads anyways. ManyAtrueNerd's permanant damage run of fallout 3 barely worried about rads as well, he completed the main game and point lookout without ever getting even the first stage of radiation sickness and he had countered the negative to it already anyways.

Bethesda patching IS pretty wishful thinking I admit but they will patch A FEW things and I think you should try and hold off on adding these things to the list for a few patches longer, if only out of courtesy

Yeah okay it's not easy, but a lot of the problems with Fallout 4 are design decisions - dumbing down the dialogue, removing skills/reworking perks, the power armor system, enemy bullet sponges, RNG based weapon drops just to name a few.

I played New Vegas for like 220 hours despite it being a technically horrible game that crashes all the time. So technology definitely isn't my main gripe with Fallout 4

I've seen my friend playing Fallout 4, while I just finished Fallout 3 (before New Vegas, which gave me a headstart in best game I ever played), and it is bad.
Third Fallout was somewhat entertaining and a bit RPG-like. This is striaght up FPS, even fucking Black Ops 2 was more RPG game.

-no random crits, the idea of a guaranteed crit as a mechanic is fun, but making it in lieu of any other type of crit is pretty dumb, it's like they assumed that nobody would want to manually aim.
-no specialization, they designed this game so you would just have one character who spends 75% of gametime as an immortal superhero since there's no level cap or incentive for another run
-Settlements, half-baked idea, interesting in concept but extremely poorly implemented, no tangible benefits to making a prosperous settlement. At this level of sophistication it's filler on the level of wind waker's original triforce quest.
-weapons, it seems like they went out of their way to make sure that nothing looks like an actual weapon, real-world weapons like 9mm pistols and proper assault rifles are conspicuously absent

-literally everything, it feels like a teenager's fallout fanfiction he wrote during a history lesson on the american revolution.
