>dialogue wheel
who the fuck thought that was a good idea? Yeah man, I sure want to read abbreviations of shit so I can't even tell what I'm going to say
>Dialogue wheel says "Doubt"
>think my character is going to say something along the lines of "I don't believe you"
>dialogue starts
>"You are full of shit, the truth is you hated that bitch. You followed her and dragged her onto your Brahmin and then took her out to the Vault. She woke up and you smashed her face in with a Power Fist. And then you stomped her. You stomped her because she's a drunken whore and she treated you like shit. You stomped her for all the years you had to take it. You stomped her because you are such a weak fucking sister and you wanted to erase all memory of it. Go on. Try to deny it
>guy I'm talking to starts uncontrollably crying
>dialogue wheel gives me 4 new options
>want to console him because I didn't see it coming that my character would flip out like that
>pick [Glass Him] to give him a drink
>character picks up a nuka cola bottle and smashes his face in
>guy drags himself across the ground screaming for help
>chose dialogue option [Help Him]
>my character starts screaming "Oh I'll help you alright." walks up to him and stomps the shit out of his back and breaks his legs with a Super Sledge
>Codsworth hovers over the guy and says some cheesy line along the lines of "Guess this will make BREAKING NEWS when they find his corpse"
>chose dialogue option "Very funny"
>character says "Fuck you"
i'm glad you circled the dialogue wheel otherwise i wouldn't have seen it

This is pasta, fampire.

Bethesda thought it was a good idea when they realized it would let them write four lines that all say the same thing and hide it with vague hints.
I don't have a picture handy, but I'm sure someone else does.
>>320128663
Got you covered mate. You are 100% right.
>>320130061
There's another one where a ghoul woman propositions you for sex and all the options are some variation of "No, because I'm grieving for my lost family." This despite the fact that when you say that, you could be romancing several of your companions at the same time.

You know, say what you want about Bioware, but at least they never made a dialogue option that was literally just "SARCASTIC".
>>320124998
It worked really well for Mass Effect
Why you fags sperging so hard over it in Fallout 4?
C'est tout.
>>320131769
Right, in Dragon Age II, you don't even get a description, just a just a little pink heart or a broken heart.
>>320131825
Because Bethesda did it in probably the worst possible way. And just because it worked decently enough in Mass Effect doesn't mean it works for every game.
>Sarcastic.

I keep trying to convince myself to try this one.
And you guys just keep giving me more and more solid reasons to stay away.

Thanks console

Mass Effect started this shit and it was a wheel. So now every time it shows up in other games people call it a "Dialogue Wheel" instead of "Abbreviated Dialogue Options Assigned to Face Buttons You Can Press to Make Your Character Speak".
>>320132076
I pirated it and i still felt ripped off. I could have used that bandwidth to download something actually good.
Who /sarcastic/ here?
>>320132076
All the other problems with Fallout 4 are just disappointing, but this dialogue shit really pisses me off. Not having a lot of options is one thing, but pretending there are more is pretty scummy.
>>320130061
I was gonna use this mod, but I think I'd rather be tricked into thinking there are choices to be made in interacting with characters.
>>320132450
How would you know if we're answering truthfully or being SARCASTIC?

I'm glad it got a metacritic in the 80s and lost the GoTY to Witcher 3. The industry is finally starting to get tired of Bethesda's bullshit.
>>320133269
Seeing it fall to 84 must have been pretty satisfying for fans of New Vegas.
