Console wars were fine when they used to actually be about the different machines and their games. Each platform had its positive points and it was mosty a matter of opinion. What people, especially underage /v/irgin fanboys, don't understand is that platform competition decreases the quality of games. There are too many hurdles, licence/law issues, porting issues, etc.
Platform competition only makes it harder, especially technically, to distribute games. IF there was an cross-platform engine that has no issues when writing from any platform to another, then there would be no issue. But that's sadly not the case.
