I only really ever had 1 online friend that did not involve sexting. We met on an anime forum and ended up skyping etc heavily for several months. But she went through some shit moving and not having internet and such. So after a couple of months of that it wasn't really the same. Maybe she thought I liked her (although i think i did for a brief period a few months previously). Idk, stuff happens, people change. Sounds like in your case it isn't anything personal.

It happens. One time i managed to get a "i just wanted to start anew burn all bridges" after he suddenly re-added me. Next day he deleted me again, your best bet is to forget about him and find someone else because such people are unreliable.

Speaking as someone who did this, its because I needed to make a change in my life and sitting in front of the computer all day chatting was too much of a distraction. I cut out everyone in my online life. However if he only cut you out OP it may be that you were too clingy and he got fed up. Consider if you were the one initiating conversation or he was.
