When I got this game on 360, it was considered an above average but flawed game, with almost no content and filled with unpolished graphics and game sections.
It's not even close to the best Metal Gear game anon. I'm not even a Metal Gear fan, and I think 2 and 3 are miles above the Platinum game.

Well, the whole 3 episode rule has been reinforced by Madoka, just because you don't like it does not make it bad in any way.
It's actually considered one of the greatest anime released in recent time, and it'll definitely become a classic.
And about IS, I don't know the circumstances of how you were recommended to watch it, but fans of the series are obviously going to recommend it on their threads.
