It's going to kill handhelds and I'm fine with that.
They're nice small experiences and are easy to squeeze into your schedule if you're a busy person, but they're nothing compared to traditional handheld games

Nothing wrong with mobile as a gaming platform. The problem is that it is being abused by devs and publishers to make a quick buck with little to no effort. And when you can do that, why try harder?
The flow on effect is that why would they bother wasting time and money on bigger non-mobile games when these mobile games get a better ROI.

Mobile gaming is alright as a concept, but the market is somehow even more cancerous than Steam. If it's not a ripoff of some popular game loaded with microtransactions and grindy bullshit, then there will be 1000's of clones of it with that garbage shoved in within a week. The sad is that even though such a tiny portion of mobile games actually make it big, some developers think that it's the future of gaming and their fans will be A-OK with them moving all of their shit to mobile.
