I think a big problem was that Telltale realised a lot of people reacted to Carly's death, and then interpreted how to recreate it incorrectly.
They completely removed pretty much all character development, or anything that would make me grow to like any of these characters. Instead, they either did absolutely nothing, or STARTED to have character development, before have a 'shocking' anti-climactic death.
Did anyone here give a shit at all about Carlos or how he died? He did nothing noteworthy, left no significant impression on me, and then randomly died instantly while a bunch of other more important stuff was happening. And that's just one example.

Out of all the 400 Days characters, it would've made the most sense for Shel to want to leave Carver's. Bonnie was co-dependant, Vince and Russell were wannabe thugs and Wyatt was pretty meek. If you remember in season 1 when you were told that everyone who dies comes back as walkers regardless if they are bitten or not.
In the comics, which is the canon source material for this shit, when babies are born they are already dead and go full baby zombie mode. Which is a rare occurrence, since most people cannot get pregnant anymore. Even though there have been times where a lady has given birth only for her and her baby to get splattered by a shotgun.
I think Kirkman just uses makin babies as a plot device so he hasn't fully explained what actually happens.

As soon as I learned there was going to be a baby I fully expected it to die. A noisy baby attracts the undead, is difficult to care for in a freezing winter, let alone in the post apocalypse. When the moment came that the baby was implied to be dead because of Jane, I was so happy. I had put up with it for the whole game, and Jane had finally gotten it killed. I shot Kenny because somewhere along the line, the writers tried to hard to make him unlikable, they ruined him so I put him out of his misery.
I wanted to kill Jane when I realized she put everyone on a ruse cruise, but by then it was too late. I was stuck with her and that baby.
Telltale failed when they didn't make the baby dying a potential ending.
