i want to into Dark Souls on PC, but I heard the controls and shit are fucked.
Is it fixed with mods and such, or am I better off just skipping to DS2?

i don't think anyone should do it, it isn't horrible but it's not a great game either. as for the controls for DaS 1, use a controller unless you're okay with keyboard and mousewhich you shouldn't be

Hey guys I played Dark Souls once for about 15m at a friend's place and didn't like it much. But everyone kept telling me to keep playing so I recently bought it. What are some tips for me to get the very best experience playing this?
Keep in mind, I'm one of those gamers that play a whole game without knowing about certain mechanics and that pissed me off in the past.

the best tip that you could ever get is this: dont ask for tips, Im not fucking with you, the best dark souls expirience is the one you get by yourself, discover new arears for yourself, find new paths, bosses, by yourself, every weapon is doable if youa re good enough, also dont put points on endurance since its a useless stat.

Endurance is useful. Don't put points I'm that poison resist one.
download DSfix and use a controller and its already infinately better than the console verison. Don't skip it to play the shittier version of the game. Play Dark Souls its fucking incredible

Points in Resistance are always wasted, while points in endurance and vitality are always useful. Besides that I'd just say this: when you first start off, talk to the snarky guy sitting down. Then choose the upward path. DON'T ATTACK NPC'S.

that's all you need, and you have the best version of DaS available.
If you're not using a controller for some reason, there's a "fix" that makes M+KB way better.
You need DSfix first, then there's a Mousefix or something, just search for it.

Keep your equip weight below 50% of the max
Find a weapon you like, look at the stat requirements. Meet them, then look at the stat scaling for that weapon. Whichever stat has the highest scaling, level that skill up to 40.

Oh also, the master key is kinda a cheat item that lets you unlock some doors without keys, letting you open shortcuts early, thief class starts with it. I recommend you DO NOT start with this item for your first playthrough, going through those shortcuts early might end up confusing you or getting you killed by entering a difficult area before you should be there.

It's tied to equip weight. Level endurance and/or equip max carry weight increasing rings. If you have a high enough max equip weight you can fast roll in the heaviest armor (there's 4 tiers of rolls: fatroll, medium roll, fastroll and ninja flip). You can only ninja flip by being at fastroll weight and equipping the dark wood grain ring.
