Yes. I'm mostly okay with it since it IS undeniable that he's an icon on the same level as the already existing 3rd parties, which is more you can say about popular suggestions for the Ballot like Shantae and Shovel Knight, I guess it can be argued that since FF has history on Nintendo consoles, and Cloud is their biggest character, it does make some sense despite Cloud himself being so detached from Nintendo. Still was a big shock, though.

Don't all the sword characters play pretty differently aside from Marth/Lucina? Ike, Shulk, Metaknight, and Roy all seem pretty varied.
I'm not really fazed by third parties ever since they introduced Solid Snake. Yeah Cloud has even less of a connection to Nintendo but Snake was ground breaking.
Why should a character from a Sony exclusive, who's marketing tactic was shitting on the N64, be allowed in Smash Bros, a celebration of Nintendo history? Even Ryu is in his SF2 incarnation.

Honestly I'd prefer of they just made a combined port on the next console before they do any major overhauls. I don't think people realize just how much content there would be in a combined port.
