Pic related. its seriously the best Spiderman game of all time, and if you like spidey in the slightest you should buy it now and play it. I've finished it 4 times and still want to play it.

Why was Black Cat the romance option for Black Spidey again? In the comics she was near good guy, in fact she was for a while. She's not edgy at all.

OP is correct. As far as games going that just let you BE Spider-Man, Web of Shadows is incredible. Adding in the aerial combat did so much to help make it a Spider-Man game

The story is your typical zombie apocalypse but with symbionts and venom. i think we can all agree that venom and the symbionts are the coolest part of the Spideyverse. it also features lots and lots of marvel characters + symbiont suit on them.

It's not Spider-Man. At its very core. It's a zombie game with a Spider-Man skin on it. It's fun certainly, but it's pretty obvious they were throwing villains in left and right without understanding them. Black Cat being the EVUL love interest is what tipped me over regarding the story. But to be fair I did what most people did and just had fun.

Symbiote suit is a bit slower and lot heavier feeling in it's combos, you can just switch between red and black suits constantly by clicking in one of the analog sticks
As it's been said the aerial combat is fucking awesome, Vulture's boss fight feels like controlling a graphic novel
I have to say that the voice actor for Peter specifically is fucking awful. I'm fine with a teenage Peter but he was the whiniest bitch-soundingest Peter Parker I've ever felt like shit for listening to.
Also you can't walk at all in this game, the slowest movement speed is jogging. Sure it's trivial, it makes me fucking nuts, especially in the black suit.
In the end though,you get to fight Venom infected Wolverine and tear him in half with your bare hands, choosing the bad guy symbiote path at least)

I never said I didn't like the game. In fact, I do quite like it. I just treated the story as a fun zombie game with a Spider-Man paint.
Symbiote suit is badass and I welcome any Spider-Man game that uses it. And sadly not many games use it.

Sorry anon, seems like you haven't played pic related. Also Shattered Dimensions was better, one thing they don't get that they finally have to drop the open world thing or at least compress it down, almost every Spider-Man game that has an open world ultimately sucks, apart from maybe Ultimate Spider-Man but it was saved only because of the graphics.

Thanks for posting this OP. "I know that feel" would be an understatement here. You really managed to hit the nail today and I'm not just saying that. Spider Man Web of Shadows truly was the perfect Spidey game. It's a damn shame that it didn't get the recognition that it deserved. The web slinging mechanic in which you latched onto an enemy was legendary. I could go on and on.
