Paper Jam is far and away the best Mario RPG. I'm a complete sucker for the little things, like being able to speed up every cutscene/dialogue in the game and having a dedicated run button.

It's amazing, it takes Paper Jam 5 minutes to establish what takes DT a fucking hour because they have to explain a backstory you don't give a shit about.
The new gimmicks don't operate on a different level like inside bowser or the dream world, but mesh perfectly with the already established gameplay.
It's been sooo long since I genuinely enjoyed a mario rpg, so I'm a bit blown away here.

I'm not saying Paper Jam is a bad game (It's an awesome game) or doesn't have any Paper Mario elements, but in terms of the RPG crossover and all, it definitely leans towards the Mario & Luigi side. Core gameplay is from Mario & Luigi, and the developers are AlphaDream (M&L) as opposed to Intelligent Systems (PM).
