No, like I really do love the game. I just mean like, after you've done all that there's not much point to playing the game again. Games like SMB3 have replay value in the sense that they challenge your skill. Undertale doesn't reward skill (outside from Geno runs) very much, it basically rewards emotional investment. Maybe it's just a matter of personal preference, but I can go back to games like Mega Man over and over because they challenge my skill as a player. Undertale doesn't really do that.

The new average gamer thinks games are all like Mario or COD or Skyrim, so when a game like Undertale comes along and is popular, it's praised as innovative.

It's so weird, Undertale seemed to me like a fairly niche game to me when I played it on the day it came out. I feel like functionally it is slightly better than Earthbound, but not as good as Mother 3. I always thought including some light interactivity in RPG battle systems made things slightly more interesting. It kind of goes without saying that it subverts genre expectations, and based on its reception, people must have, to varying extents, fell for the leveling and all that. It's a pretty good game, but none of its ideas are really cutting edge, other than not having to kill anyone, but similar things have been done in the past. It seems then that everyone is raving over the characters or about whatever emotional impact the game may have had on them. With some "progressiveness" sprinkled in, and it being more "inclusive" than most media it makes sense why the game would resonate with a lot of people. All that gay trans-ness doesn't affect the game at all. Characters are just gay, etc, and that's probably what they like about it.
tl;dr: I think Undertale is pretty solid, but not great, but I can see why in today's world this is happening.
