And if you want to use it on your 3DS, that's a separate purchase of the exact same price.

You are equating file size to monetary value. Thats not how economics work.

We dont say 1 Gold bar is only worth 1 penny because they are both 1.
>>
The value of something doesn't decrease just because figurative-but-deliberately-referred "crap" gets made cheaper.

Super Mario Bros. is a cultural icon and a lynchpin of this industry. You should be grateful to only have to pay $5 to own its license.

Personally I believe that Zelda 1 should still be at least a $20 game. Nonlinear games would still be playing footsie with the water if it weren't for it.

You wouldn't have GTA, or Saints Row, Batman, say goodbye to From Software as a company let alone their games, no MGS, no Just Cause, no Elder Scrolls... Fallout, Rage, Bully, and other sandbox/life simulator sucky games.

They all exist because SMB and the original Zelda fell to earth like extraterrestrials from 2085 Year of our Lord. SMB being of course, the first nonlinear video game ever made, with the Warp Pipes.
>>

Whilst true, you chose the worst place to put that point forward. $5 for a triple a game that plays as well as newer versions of the same series?

Thats fantastic value for money, the only ones complaining are people who think that they should be entitled for everything to be free just because its old.

>Then, if you upgraded to the new Wii U and want to use the new features that version of VC use, you have to pay another fee

>And if you want to use it on your 3DS, that's a separate purchase of the exact same price.

It was excusable for the SNES and GB-GBA, because you had to actually pay for the cartridge, and they were remakes that improved the visuals and often added new features or content.

Nowadays, you're just paying to download an official ROM and run it a Nintendo-produced emulator. You shouldn't have to pay $5 for every system you want to play the same version of Mario or Metroid on.
They should copy what Sony does with it's PSN store for PS1 games: You pay for digital copy once, and you can then download and play it on any compatible device you own.

Or, if you think $5 is too steep (especially if you want to play all of their classic games), Nintendo could try a subscription based route for their older games. Like, $5 a month gives you access to all of their NES games, or whatever.
>>
>>319804198

I think 5 bucks for a good game is worth the price.
Though I'd get the modded SNES version instead.
Which can't be bought.
Also eShop games on WiiU have a shitty debrightness filter over them to protect your eyes or something, totally not worth it.

The value is derived from a scenario-based ratio of fiscal conservation (Nintendo's assessment of value in light of their great plethora of games that they need to stay afloat while making things inexpensive enough for consumers to rebuy) and demand, were there to be a solar EMP burst that causes most electronics in the world to get fried/lose stored software.

SMB would be among the best-sellers, with Ocarina of Time, FFVII, and RE2 if that happened.

$5 is how much Nintendo assumes the game would cost in that case.

When your shitty little zombie defense Steam Greenlight game revolutionizes the entire video game industry and is regarded as one of the greatest games ever created you can charge five bucks for it too.

Nobody's going to pay $5-15 each for these rereleases of ancient games. If Nintendo wanted to make crazy money they'd offer a $10 monthly subscription for a Netflix type service for their entire back catalog of NES, SNES, GB and GBA games. Everything they have the rights to + whatever deals they can work out with 3rd parties, and you could play it all on either 3DS or your home console. Yeah emulators exist but even I'd still go for that for the convenience.

>>319811665
Partially the ending to Taxi Driver is a deconstruction of hero tropes from just before the vietnam war started raping american psyche. Basically the idea was that american filmakers gave up on the idea of there being right and wrong and even on the idea of heroes. Travis is a skinny twerp who is bad with women and who doesn't look very heroic. He's meant to be a deconstruction of heroes and the traditional role of men in America after a bunch of young men got raped in vietnam and then hated when they came home.

tl;dr he's supposed to be retarded, more or less.
