ITT: We post underrated games from previous gens
If you haven't played 40 Winks yet go do it now its the fuckin freshest shit
I remember wanting to get my first console, a PS1, to get 40 winks because I saw it in EGM and I thought it looked cool. The guy at the Wiz talked me and my mom out of it because their were better games for 5 year olds on the N64. So, I never got to PS1 ever. In exchange I became a nintendo fan boy for most of my life. Thanks for the memory flash OP

Damn that was a crux in your life. Imagine your life now if you had got the Playstation.

I grew up on N64 over psx as well, when I finally got around to playing some games, I wasn't missing too much outside of maybe Crash Team Racing.
This game remains one of my favorites I still play it to this day.
40 winks was decent, i remember getting stuck on the futuristic zone

40 winks was on the N64 too, but it was one of those games that did not get released despite being damn near done.
Nintendo Power even did an article on it, as well as a couple other magazines at the time

This was the tightest shit. First level has you build a fucking rollercoaster, how can you go wrong?
damn that game was comfy, I think I got to some part with dinosaurs before I got stuck
the "hubworld" was just their fucking house, awesome

Im glad in the end I guess. PS1 had no gaems. I got to play Star Fox, Bomberman, Chamelon Twist, Hybrid Heaven, Golden Eye.... besides FF7 what truly great PS1 games did I miss?

>tfw psychomantis reads it off your memory card
>>319787205
i'm not trying to get at you, but n64 is usually the one criticized for having no games, ps1 had quite a big library
>>319787205
>Crash 1,2,3
>CTR Crash Team Racing
>Spyro 1,2,3
>40 Winks
>Croc and Croc 2
>Rayman 1, 2
>Worms
and those were only some of the ones I owned as a kid, without any knowledge of video games
>>319787205
I never had a ps1 when it was new, but chrono cross, parasite eve, jade cocoon, MGS, crash bandicoot, etc. etc.
PS1 had an insane library but I never enjoyed dealing with multiple memory cards and discs and the load times, etc.
But it had some damn good shit on it.

symphony of the night
metal gear solid
Crash 2 and 3
spyro series
final fantasy tactics
legend of dragoon
ape escape
>move over mario
what the fuck?
>>319787454
MGS and Castlevania defently would have gotten to me more.
>>319787557
iirc it had something to do with a n64 version being developed at the same time and that version was reviewed in the nintendo magazine. It never came out so the quote is out of context, but still used on the ps1 cover as a fuck you to nintendo.
>>319785574
God I had fun with this one.
>>319787557
Because 40 Winks was a dank-ass game with transformations and collectables and comfy & thematic levels
>>319787758
why would you save such an unfunny picture
>>319787557
But yeah the above guy is right, quotes are used out of context like that all the time. You can quite literally take the phrase from a review "This game is horrible in a truly amazing way" and print it as "... Truly amazing..." - game review spot.
Kingdom Under Fire
How do you turn a successful franchise into shit?
>Change RTS genre to hack n slash to appeal to casuals
>No one likes new game
>Make next one into a MMO
Fucking loved the first games.

And it's a fucking DAMN SHAME that they never even got KuF: Heroes backwards compatible on 360. I loved Crusaders and Heroes.
>>319787810
Fucking yeah man, I remember getting this game with my Xbox 360 and playing the absolute shit out of it.
