I bought a PS4 for it over black friday, kinda dissapointed. It just doesn't "hook" me like Dark Souls or even Dark Souls 2 did. I just don't like the aesthetic, there haven't been any bosses I like yet, no weapons that I like yet.
Is there something I'm missing? Most people that play it and DS say Bloodborne is better but I just don't see it?

Low tier Souls game
Bought a ps4 for it. Played it through got bored about halfway and decided to just run through the rest of the levels. Last one I actually did was the shadows of yhanam level. Got the worst ending, but whatever, even turned down to fight that end guy.
I kind of felt forced to do a strength build since I did literally no damage with the cane and never found another dex weapon. There was almost no ranged action(I liked using bows in the other games) and I miss shields.
Pros though include pressing L1 over and over and over(I think it feels satisfying), the dodge is fucking amazing, and some of the backgrounds are really well designed.
I'd place it like this
Dark Souls >>Demon Souls > Bloodborne = Dark Souls 2
Its an ok game. Inspired Lovecraft-themed world with Hellsing shit thrown in, combats kind of easy with a few exceptions. Music is great.
I've played all the souls games.
I like it a lot, especially the story and atmosphere.
The gameplay on the other hand lacks variety. I don't like the fact that there are no spell builds (pyro / soul ).

It's alright. I really like how detailed the armor looks but the fucking hairphysics get in the way every time they were used.
Got it last week with a PS4, just finished the platinum trophy. It was really fun overall, I plan to play it even more in the future. It's like H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe and M.C. Escher had a child.

Best of the souls series. Base game is a bit short but dlc helped with that. Wish they had gotten covenants right this time, maybe for dark souls 3. Not getting some of the enemy/boss weapons and sets was bullshit. Would be the shit if enemies responded to gestures. Need a combat arena and boss rush or practice mode. Fuck the frenzy brains.
Level design is great and every weapon having it's own unique moveset is great for multiple playthroughs. Music is some, if not the best of the series. The faster yet still familiar combat is fun as all hell and helps from keeping fights from becoming slogfests, like in darks 2. Maybe it's the effect of experience but I felt the game was a bit too easy, only gherman and ebrietas were genuine difficult for me, shit gets real in NG+++ and forward though. Best co-op

I think chalice dungeons would've been better with more layouts and being random right from the start. It's especially ass if you make several characters and go there for gems. I also think the DLC added a bit more of replayability because some stats like bloodtinge and arcane got now a somewhat decent selection of weapons to make a playthrough with them more bearable.

Once you find the best aoe combo on any character you don't have much use for any other shit in the game because you score up through linking combos together and they basically throw enemies at you on every screen. Also the fucking level design is attrocious, it's fucking hallways all the way to the end and the fights take so fucking long that it's repetetive after about 10 minutes. Some people told me the bosses were great but they suck aswell, it's usually either some girl who gets molested in a corner until she dies or some huge piece of shit that you have to hit with aircombos. It looks like ass, the girls look like ass, the combat is ass, the level design is ass and it's not fun. Oh, and the fucking challenges? There's like 30 for every difficulty or something and they throw something new at you in the first 5 of them and the rest is just chain fucking aoe combos together again.
