I actually think it's pretty fun now as long as you have all the dlc and throw some mods on it.
Its the only casual/child/female/old intended game series I personally like but I haven't played it since like 2007.
I think the way DLC content is handled really shows that EA is using this game to milk cash out of it unfortunately.

I don't really have an interest in 4 since it just the same bullshit treatment to customers; Make them buy the same shit over and over again.
I did that with 1 and 2, but I refused to buy 3 until a complete back was released.
I'll do the same with 4, and maybe when it has a huge discount.

Not really. The neat changes that 3 implemented (create-a-style, seamless town) were removed in 4 for whatever reason. The core gameplay hasn't changed at all other than >muh feels. It was dead on arrival.

EA dropped the ball by releasing sequels with the same expansion format. Especially after the memory bloat that was The Sims 3.

This. They've all gotten pretty bad once the expansions start flowing. 2 was a bit slow nesr the end of its cycle but nowadays any toaster can run that, wheres 3 is just shit on anything.

I think so, there still isn't a fuckton of content yet, but the new systems like multitasking and clubs flow really well, they make it worth trying.
