I've only played Origins and a very little amount of 2 and to me the lore seemed like generic fantasy with pretty much all imaginable tropes included, Like Racist templar mage hunters, unstoppable undead horde, sleeping dragons, etc.

PIllars of Eternity has a good lore, I think. It has some innovative ideas for a fantasy world. We could discuss about how the actual game is, but I enjoyed the lore.

I suggest to read the Codex in the first two games. Things get very interesting in DA:I. That's where the most interesting stuff is presented and they put a lot of effort in all the connections and consequences of the series.

it may seem bland at first, but it's actually interesting. not everything is what it seems at first, like the dragons sleeping underground. they are needed to prevent the darkspawn from mindlessly scavenging upstairs: with their "song" they keep the hordes busy. that's why Solas is against killing them when the matter is brought up in Inquisition.
Also the dwarves are not the usual race of gruffy people living underground because they like gems. They were sealed down there by Mythal and all references to their life prior this has been erased, causing the new generations to believe the surface is bad and causing castes and mafia to grow strong in their society. they could even use magic before, now all their connections to the Fade are severed.

while yes, it will, the problem comes in with the debugging menus. half of them are inaccessible due to the dreamcast keyboard (JP version) having the S2 key. that S2 key isnt recognized by windows linux or osx, nor is it detectable via an emulator.
im actually attempting to repackage the xbla version with the prototype files to see if i can make it boot the prototype.
assuming this works, i can use my XDK 360 and use my dreamcast adapter to use the keyboard.
