Geralt's va completely sold me on the presence of American accents in fantasy medieval settings though. It never once felt out of place to me.
Brits didn't speak with the accent now used in games or historical dramas back in medieval times anyways so it isn't like one is more authentic than the other anyway.

Its easier to make them speak in English than to invent a new language for each species. Can help with character building sometimes - cracking jokes or conveying emotion.
