Played League since season 1, stopped in season 5 because it got so shit. Each season update the game pandered to babies more and more. It's on the brink of becoming a children's game with all the strict language control and how dumbed down it is. Remember when wards were important. Every single esports game was exactly the same this season, It was either a complete stop, or baron decided the game. Whats wrong with making it easier to place wards? Even if other members on your team bought wards, they bought, what, 1-2 max in around 10 minutes? You cant deny that the whole meta revolved around the support being a ward mule, and the whole game late into the match revolve around "Escort the lawn mower support". It's not as hard as one may think, there's a lot of 'pro teams', they're just really bad compared to what most people watch which are the BEST teams.
I've never understood why so many people on this website hate moba games so much. My time with them has been some of the most fun i've ever had in my life.

I can't speak for DotA but in LoL you have to have be mechanically skilled, have extensive knowledge about your lane and have the desire to constantly update it. Basically you should be passionate and analytical.
Being in a pro team is a bit different. Most of the teams have good players but lack cohesiveness, mostly because of bad planning and an inability to adapt.
Honestly I'd say that to "make it" in LoL all you need is to be a popular streamer. In the end streaming is much more profitable and less stressful than playing it competitively.

the so-called hardest heroes in dota require more rich skillsets than the hardest lol champions
for example meepo visage invoker illusion heroes etc all play differently and require different skill sets
also there is still a lot of room for "mechanics" in dota, I encourage you to look up the things some Ember Spirit Earth Spirit and Invoker players can do. Even supports with "boring" skill sets have things that can make them mechanically rewarding for example landing a multiple man burrowstrike to set up for a epicenter
