I felt really cheated by some of the bosses in that game.
Paarl, Amelia, Witches, and Shadow were all huge push overs.
So i just picked up bloodborne on black friday and am slogging through it, only boss that really gave me grief was rom, which took about 5 tries but otherwise i killed most bosses on the first try. I just got to Nightmare Frontier and i'm feeling pretty burned out on the game, Do i keep progressing? it could be that i just stuck with the hunters axe and kept upgrading it instead of getting something new cause i liked the way it handled.
TLDR: not finding the game difficult but its losing its appeal to me at nightmare frontier, does it get better?

You might like Ludwig's sword, the one that turns into a greatsword. Very satisfying moveset and has pretty good strength scaling. You can probably use the cannon if you want, too, it requires 30 strength and is a QS chugging fiend, but it's really satisfying. Most people on /bbg/ seem to recommend 50/25 for offensive stats.
This is your first character though, it really doesn't matter that much, you should just experiment. Dick around pvping in Nightmare Frontier, see how other people fight and if any of their styles interest you.

You really don't need more than 25 endurance and a lot of people will scoff at even 20. Higher level PvP is over in only a few swings usually because of how much damage everyone can put out due to gems. I think most minmaxers would recommend 15, or even base endurance, especially since there's a rune that gives you 10-20% more stamina.

But even if it's only PvE I can't imagine needing 30 endurance, that's gotta be like 15 swings on a single bar or 20 dashes or something. Okay, yeah. Dark Souls 2 is shit, and it's because the durability is literally artificial difficulty. The enemy movesets aren't actually difficult to avoid (when they don't turbotrack your ass up until the last nanosecond) so the only way they can keep you from rushing ahead too fast is to arbitrarily break your shit if you're not doing their intended damage output.
I really hope the people who implemented the weapon durability and general hit tracking in DaS2 are demoted to grabbing the coffee and passing out memos for DaS3. That shit is just unacceptable, it doesn't matter which Souls you compare it to.

I find the best option is just rush him with either the tonitrus or lightning paper and just pile on as much damage as you can. Just ignore the spiders. Well all the spiders after the first set. You should kill all the first spiders because Rom won't do anything until you damage him enough so you can easily kill the first set of spiders.

Your second character will feel more rewarding since you'll be able to get through the game much quicker and at a lower level. But you should have a build planned out if you plan on pvping. If you have the DLC arcane builds are crazy fun cuz of a specific rune and weapon you can get. Bloodtinge builds look fun too cuz you can just shoot a nigga down cuz your poke is real shit and do some anime bullshit with a katana.
Reddit recommends the meta is lv150 but 98 and 120 I think are more reasonable because builds are actually defined with strengths and weaknesses at those levels; at 150 everyone's kind of the same without any notable flaws, like DaS2's abysmal pvp scene.

The spider's jump attack has a huge tell and is incredibly easy to dodge. You just have to actually pay attention to them as well as the boss. Freja you could just swing them all down and then go kill her. Rom's minions won't peel too far away from Rom and their heads are very resistant to damage, so you have to isolate them into 1s and 2s.
You know, you have to actually go into a massively outnumbered fight treating it like it's a fight where you're massively outnumbered. I can see how some people fail to adapt to this.

My first playthrough I just put in enough points to try out different weapons that looked cool, focusing on strength and skill. I put most of my points into Vit and a handful into endurance; most of my damage came from gems and upgrades that I got from dicking around in chalice dungeons. You're not going to know what weapons you like until you use them or have them used against you.
It's your first guy, you shouldn't really expect to be able to min/max him at all.

Most first playthroughs people just focus on strength or skill. Ignore bloodtinge, don't level endurance past 20, and only level arcane if there's an item you want to use it for. Hunter's Axe is a little OP but it's the most fun of the starting weapons with the largest moveset. But you should try out whatever you find lying around.

You put the rest of your points into your secondary scaling stat, goofball. 25 Endurance is way more than enough, and personally I don't think you need more than 20 unless you have a very specific play style. Do what the other guy said, put points into vit early on, you can't go wrong with that. Every build is going to have like 40 vit at some point anyway. When you decide what weapon you really like you can start investing points into it's damage stats. Until then the game throws upgrade materials at you once you get a decent amount of time into it.
