Necalli felt spectacular in Beta 2, even if the game in general felt sluggish and unsafe I still felt great things from his kit. WAtching people play the newer builds gives me more hope for the game since blockstrings and combos look smoother than before, so I plan on repping the angry Mayan once more in February.

Recently started to learn charge characters, (Guile and Chun), and I have a question. When charging, I know the concept is that you hold the charge while linking normals, but I have trouble with linking jump-in combos. Does charging only begin once you've hit the ground, or as soon as you hold down back, even if in mid-jump? Can't seem to do jump-in Fierce, then EX-Spinning bird or Flash Kick.

I'm most interested in Fang and Birdie as they are characters designed to fight from midrange and further in a game build around being rushdown scum.
I'm very interested in matchups like Birdie/Zangief and Fang/Dhalsim. I think the similar game plans would make for really fun sets. Chun even seems pretty well-rounded.
I'm least looking forward to Laura and Mika as their waifufaggotry ensures a big, vocal playerbase and I feel like they will be very strong at the start. The weak oki in this game makes their mixup the most potent and they easily are more mobile than a large fraction of the cast.

I could see myself trying out all characters since I feel they made them different enough from 4. I mean, I tried all characters in 4, but I'm just not going to assume that the ones I didn't like there I still won't like in 5.
I'll probably pick Karin or Laura last because I don't want to be associated with waifufags.
I'm gonna try to not make the same fundamental mistakes I made in 4.
1. Pick a main that exemplifies the game style (e.g. Ryu in 4) to master the mechanics with.
2. Learn matchups and how to block and punish the cast's moves.
3. Then move on to a character that I like more with a less orthodox style.
