So I started playing Morrowind and holy shit, this is so much better than Skyrim or Oblivion. The lack of compass and quest markers coupled with the journal is fucking great, the atmosphere is great and the character models, while blocky, look much less goofy than in Oblivion.
I think I'm in love /v/. 3 hours in now.

Story wise the game is good, but it looks fucking silly and the combat is shit. Ignoring the obvious graphical capabilities of newer games, skyrim has the most reasonably designed characters, especially beast races.

Morrowind is dissociative disorder tier. No other game world has such tensegrity.

Combat is actually interesting at high levels. For instance my barbarian character's hammer sends a foe to their knees with one hit and kills with the next.
The combat in this vid is unmodded, only the sounds are modded. Fighting is fun as fuck in morrowind.
