There is no combat
It's a point & click game with great art direction, good atmosphere, hit & miss dialogues that can be either very funny or complete shit. Good puzzles, well told story, tons of backtracking and slow sense of progression.

A little too LOL rANDUM humour, and the puzzles aren't hard, but its the Freshman chapter, Kings Quest didn't hit it's stride untill 5/6.

There was a leak by someone close to Hussie on the Homestuck team. Hussie, who has made jokes about every single thing he has ever talked about, including porn of his underage characters, simply stated he had no comment when the leak came out and had the leak deleted.
He had tried to repeatedly talk to them for months before he managed find out that the company had misused his funds. By the time he managed to talk them into giving his money back, the had spent even more of it. He hasn't said anything official about the whole ordeal, so we're in the dark. The community thinks it's a mix of the contract he had with the company being terrible and the fact his top priority was resuming development of the game ASAP. Also, his mother died during the whole mess.

Fucker was knee deep in water and didn't slow down with updates because he cared. He also wrote Problem Sleuth and Team Special Olympics, which are both great and better than Homestuck.
