Its downfall was that it's too fucking expensive thanks to Sony's insistence on using their bullshit proprietary memory format, the lack of homebrew and piracy to keep it alive like the PSP did, and not having any games worth a fuck. Even if it would have gotten Monster Hunter, that's only one game.
