>Nuka-Cola was invented in 2044 by John-Caleb Bradberton. Its unique taste gained widespread popularity, quickly becoming the most popular soft drink in the United States with an extremely dedicated following. The widely known dazzling blue bottle color was adopted as standard in 2052, after market research programs indicated that the blue color was the favorite in 86 people out of 100 polled.

>The name of the Nuka-Cola creator, John-Caleb Bradberton, is an amalgamation of the inventors of Coca-Cola (John Pemberton) and Pepsi-Cola (Caleb Bradham).

What did Fallout 4 mean by this?

According to Fallout 4 Nuka Cola was invented in or prior to 1945.

Why the fuck is there Jet in prewar storage

I want to know

Most people don't have autism and so they don't pay attention to these kinds of details because they spend their time in game doing the quests and killing monsters and stuff instead of looking for continuity errors and inconsistencies to cry about

Jet is actually a pretty big deal though. Fallout 3 and 4 heavily imply that Fallout 2 isn't canon anymore

Pepsi-Cola? haha that's crazy!

Everyone knows what the design for Nuka-Cola comes from.

Anyways I think it's great how there are so many similarities that Fallout 3 and Fallout Tactics both share.

Because it's a different drug with the same name.

It's only dumb because you refuse to put any thought into it just so you can keep complaining.
It has a different effect, even from the more recent games with the same mechanics like 3 and New Vegas
>>
>>319544060
He's right. The terminal doesn't say what year it was posted. That screenshot on its own doesn't show that there was Jet location pre-war, since everyone from townsfolk to raiders regularly use rob-co terminals to keep diaries. It wasn't sufficient proof to support the tweet and Pete pointed that out.
>>
>>319549631
Perhaps, but it's not like this should necessarily produce substances that couldn't be found on Pre-war Earth.

>In the pre-War days, big meat companies had experimented with a cheap protein extract for growing food. However, the product had to be abandoned because any bacterial contamination (even from common skin bacteria) resulted in a complex reaction, ruining any meat and causing it to act like methamphetamine. To cut their losses, farmers fed the extract to their cattle.
>Myron discovered that the fumes generated from brahmin who had been fed the contaminated protein extract could be used to create a powerful drug.
The shit they feed the Brahmin was around pre-war. There's nothing to indicate that the process wouldn't have worked with non-mutated regular old cows. You think that some kid was the first person to ever discover that huffing shitfumes gets you high?
>>
>>319544060
Don't really give a shit about the whole jet debacle, but you also find jet in the vault that wasade for addicts.
I guess it could be the gunners? But you find some jet in hidden stashes the junkies made.
>>
>>319550319
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault-Tec_Regional_HQ_terminal_entries

You can tell from the other entries that it is clearly pre-war. They are dated, and they all happen to stop right before the bombs drop.
>>
>>319551218
That terminal in that image is from that vault, detailing some of the drugs they had in storage when it was shipped there pre-war.
>>
you guys are fucking morons for believing jet was around post-war

Why cant you just admit that modern fallout games dont give a shit about consistency? It would be too much of a hassle to actually rename the fucking item
>>
>>319551260
Right. But I'm saying that, to most people who haven't played the game thoroughly and hadn't seen the terminals and vault for themselves like Pete Hines, you can't gleam any of that information from the screenshot of the terminal or the tweet accompanying it. All you see is a claim and something that - on its own - doesn't support the claim.

Even if Myron did invent jet he wasn't the first person to figure out stimulants. It's probably just some amphetamine that has a similar effect. I doubt the junkies who use it are going to take the time to examine the chemical composition of the drugs they're digging out of old vaults and pre-war safes.

> I doubt the junkies who use it are going to take the time to examine the chemical composition of the drugs they're digging out of old vaults and pre-war safes.
You're implying that the junkie raiders dug the drugs out of old vaults, and then just called it Jet because Jet is the one they know (or at least the player character identifies it as Jet and marks it in the pipboy inventory that way).

But that's wrong.

There are terminals with entries from before Fallout 2 takes place like >>319544060 which refer to the drugs as Jet. It's not some junkie pulling it out and saying "this is jet"; there are pre-war records of a drug called jet, which is identical in effect and 3d model to post-war jet which did not exist prewar
>>
>>319556580
It's not just jenkem. It's a specific process with specific animals and specific animal feed, with animals that did not exist before the bombs dropped.

this.

Myron made a bunch of different drugs before and needed one that delivered a short high and was very addictive. This brahmin version was so potent that while it was being tested, dozens of subjects died of heart attacks and cerebral hemorrhaging or were fucked up mentally.
>>
>>319557173
the emails implied they were still working for Vault-Tec at the time before.
>>
>>319558648
Funny that the drug he finally came up with was one that easily could have existed pre-war >>319551076
>>
>>319559134
nah it's a retcon. if they didn't put that in Fallout 4 nobody would have assumed otherwise.
>>
>>319560303
They didn't put that in Fallout 4. The information that the spoiled meat meth cattlefeed was pre-war comes from Fallout 2
>>
>>319560702
They could have made a pre-war drug using the same methods but it would not be Jet.
>>
>>319561164
Myron stole everything else, why not the name too?
>>
>>319561206
he didn't steal anything.
>>
>>319561532
No, you're right, he only "created" the entire process by copying pre-war knowledge and reagents

How to spot the babby who only played NuFallout

Jet was one of the biggest parts of Fallout 2 outside of the main quest. It dominated most of the sidequests and was an important part of the worldbuilding in Northern California
>>
>>319541196
bethesda thinks the entire fallout universe is stuck in the 1950's forever and you start every fallout game a day after the bombs dropped
>>
>>319542487
There is actually a mod that makes it so pipe guns don't show up in pre-war safes.

Bethesda was just too lazy to implement the same feature, becuase it meant going through one by one. I just don't ever feel bad pirating these games.
>>
don't Americans hate atomic bombs in the fallout games? why do they celebrate it so much in these newer games?
>>
>>319564090
It's never stated or implied anywhere that the differences between cows' and brahmins' DNA factors into the process.
>>
>>319567448
Why would they hate the thing that ended WW2 with minimal casualties?
