I really did want to see an cranked up version of the original. I don't mind a combat change, extended areas fleshed out to work in real 3D, the old maps don't really line up well.
But I will be sad to see content cut. The doofy shit is a large part of what made the game fun. It was a grim atmosphere in the main story, but it broke it up with the occasional random snowboarding or giant chicken farming, or bitch slap fight (god damn I hope this is still there it was so satisfying)

I at least want it to keep the core Final Fantasy aspects, such as controlling a TEAM, not "one character at a time with the ability to switch."
If I wanna play DmC, I'll pop in DmC. If I want to play Final Fantasy, apparently I'm not allowed to pop in any game past FFX anymore.
The game CAN retain a moving feeling while retaining turn-based combat, with quick camera tricks shifting the aim towards the character receiving commands, allowing the characters to wander the scene while still retaining command, even being low and intimate like a 3rd-person shooter since they want that so bad.
