Will there ever be another Spider-Man game as great as pic related?
>>319509727
I also forgot to ask. Are there any other Spider-Man games that are similar to 2?
>>319509727
probably.
>>319509727
I enjoyed Web of Shadows alot.
Provided, we'll probably never get a precise web slinging Spidey game like Spider-Man 2 where you actually stick webs to buildings than near it.
>>319509885
Freeroam wise, just Web of Shadows and the ASM games, but the latter isn't too good.
>tfw SM2 was actually a rebuild of a cancelled Daredevil game
>>319509727
I'm not sure the current licensing situation with Spider-Man video games
I know Marvel is only focused on mobile games aside from one project with Telltale that we still don't know anything about
I wouldn't expect any new Spider-Man game and the coming years unless something changes at Marvel
>>319510279
Well expect one after his rereboot post Civil War.
>>319510058
Yeah, I've heard WoS is really good but I cant find it for a decent price nowadays (or on Steam for that matter). I know the ASM games can be picked up on the cheap so maybe I'll grab one of those.
>>319511396
torrent-wise, there's only the compressed version (missing dialogue sound files) and the complete version (russian edition)
>>319509727
Ultimate Spider-Man is the best Spider-Man game
>good story
>art style
>heart pumping tense scenes
>challenging bosses
>get to play as venom (cool as shit)
>>319509946
Ultimate Spider-Man does the same thing anon
>>319511919
What about Shattered Dimensions?
>>319511919
I liked USM but the free-roam wasn't as good as SM2's.
>>319512905MY BALLOOOOON
>>319511919
Don't fall for this bullshit. I played this steaming pile of shit a few days ago and it's trash. The game forces you to go do stupid fucking side missions after every story mission. One time all I got was a cutscene and got sent back to sidequesting. After each mission you have to go do 2 city events and a race and a random city fight thing. It's trash. Plus the main stories are just chases or shitty boss fights. Fuck this game and fuck everyone who made it.
>>319513314
Spider-Man 2 is the same way anon.
>tfw playing Amazing Spider-Man 2
I only paid $10, but christ, I was expecting it to be at least half-as-average as Amazing Spider-Man 1.
>>319512817
SD is a fun game on its own. Funny and the art styles are wonderful.
Ultimate Deadpool got changed to 616 Deadpool so that got me annoyed. Noir is Bamham stealth and he's the weakest Spider-Man but enjoyable levels nontheless.
>>319513314
what a casual lmao
>>319510058
>>tfw SM2 was actually a rebuild of a cancelled Daredevil game
Just fucking kill me
It looked so good too. We'll never get any good Daredevil vidya.
The fuckers at Disney Infinity refuse to add him to so I can't even play him in some shovelware kids game if I wanted too.
>>319513541
>mfw a Daredevil fan sits near me
Doubtful, Marvel has no interest in making anything other than mobile trash and even if that weren't the case nobody seems capable of replicating that physics based swinging.
>>319511919
'no'
The best, actual Spider-Man game, is Spider-Man for Playstation 1.
>>319513720
The best, but aged the worst. Dear lord those indoor controls are a mess. Game had hella heart though.
>>319513541
>refused Daredevil
Not even his black Frank Millar costume was allowed? For a guy who doesn't kill like Black Widow or the Guardians, I'm surprised he's not in.
>>319513720
I just call it Spider-Man 2000.KID MODE
>>319513405
Man, as average as ASM1 was, it at least threw ridiculous cool scenarios at you like the fucking giant robot boss fight right after the prison escape stage.
ASM2 didn't have jack shit.
>>319513824
They won't add him in because people will associate the character to the violent Netflix show.
The character was around for years and he has some light hearted stories before and after Miller took over. It's bullshit. You add two Captain America's but you won't add Daredevil? Fuck you.
>>319513905
As far as movie licensed products go, I enjoyed the story of ASM1 more than what the movie it followed did, it controlled relatively well (web slinging from the sky aside, which they failed terribly at trying to address in ASM2), it looked ok, and it had some fun fanservicey kinda moments. Also taking pictures of enemies and scenes and shit.
It was fun to go the stealth route as well. I almost want a Splinter Cell game with Spider-Man's powers.
>>319514093
>Disney
>good decisions
m8
>started reading the newer Spider-Man comics
>they're okay for what they are
>introduced to Silk
>who the fuck is this mary sue bitch why is she better than Peter at being Spider-Man
>despite not liking her continue with the comics
>read her solo book out of curiosity
>she's actually a decently written character and pretty likable
why did they give Slott a chance to write again?
>>319514148
Nigga, where did I ever imply that I believe would ever make a good decision?
How is it possible that devs cannot surpass the swinging mechanics of a 12 year old game?
Hell, they could even just copy it and it would be fine.
>>319509885
I thought AMS was pretty similar.
>>319515007
That looks a lot better than the version I played to 100%.
I really wish the ASM games were moddable.
>>319515282
That's the difference several hundred watts of performance makes.
>>319515504
That was a fun boss fight.
>>319515361
I just wish they were good.
>>319515282
All they have to do, is port SM2 to the Vita and that's it
>>319515504
I think it was more handing it off to a no-name developer to port in no time, resulting in a terrible running/looking port. That's somehow is super stable. Not one crash in all of my time playing it.
>>319515590
Pretty much every boss fight in ASM1 was fun in its own way. Except perhaps Scorpion.
>>319515590
It wasn't too bad, except for the "push button to perform scripted attack" bit. I've never been a huge fan of that sort of thing.
>>319515720
Not enough buttons desu
>>319515753
Dear lord. How do vitafags put up with this shit?
>>319515870
Given how poorly it sold, they didn't. The Vita is capable of a ton in the right hands.
That said, I wish the Vita/3DS got a 2.5D side-scroller like the ones the DS & PSP received last gen cycle. Those were rather ok.
>>319515007
I swear, the running is a big turn off.
>>319515870
I forgot to note that the 3DS version of ASM1 looks even worse. Youtube it for a laugh or two.
>>319516206
I know, I played the demo on 3DS. At least that has the 3D gimmick to fall back on.
>>319516287
assuming it doesn't lag like hell.
>>319509885
>the way it tied into the comic
I was really into Ultimate Spider-Man at the time so that shit was cash.
>>319516426
Game lags like hell on every platform though, except PC.
>MFW people insist USM is better than SM2
>Repetitive missions, a weaker open world, and a dumbed down swinging system
>Better
>>319516553
They both have shitty missions.
On that note, I wish Energy Hook looked to be more my cup of tea for modern web-slinging style fix, but that's slowly ending to look not the case the more I see of it. Same developer that programmed the web slinging system that was used in both SM2 & USM.
>>319516553
>Repetitive missions
Both these games have repetitive missions anon.
USM has a better artstyle and two playable characters.
>>319516553
I think every decent free-roam superhero game is always going to be plagued with repetitive missions.
>>319517431
All I look for in free roam superhero missions is destructible environments and enterable interiors.
>>319517639
So none of them then?
>>319517431
Literally the perfect Hulk game, it felt like I was reading a story from the 90s
ASM1 was actually pretty fun for one reason: the boss fights. Ever since the second giant robot showed up, I knew I was facing the Spider Slayers and my inner child giggled with glee. Too bad the web swinging was janky as fuck and the fighting Arkham-lite
ASM2 was disappointing as fuck, much like the movie
>>319517863
It's either one or the other. Spider-Man 2 had a lot of interiors but no destructibility.
>>319518420
in the end, Andrew was the most disappointed of all when he found out he was fired/when the studios decided not to go with ASM3
I wonder if the author of this ever added to it.
>>319509727
I had actually rebought this game for GCN and I never realized how much there's no music going on while you're swinging through the city. It's just dead air with hearing spidey or the civilians voices, it was jarring.
>>319518782
I have not.
I still have the source files.I still haven't finished this. The LJN games burned me out.
>>319511396
I have the 360 version if you wanna trade for something
>>319518782
This is also outdated as Ultimate Spider-Man doesn't have SM2's exact swinging system. I know I have an updated version around somewhere.
>>319519116
I would but I'm not sure how game trading on /v/ would work.
>>319519273
Trade steam/xbox accounts, chat up and see if a trade can take place.
>>319518782
>Bionic commando
>Multiplayer is fucking bananas
I wish I got it on PC instead of PS3 just because of what the mouse could allow you over the analog stick.
>>319519273
I don't even remember my Xbox account it's been so long. I have Steam though and I also use gametz if that would work for you.
>>319519485
PC is the best version to play BC 09.
It's a shame nobody cares about the game. I would love to play a full room.
>>319519485
looks fun. is SP worth it?
>>319519485
So buy it then. I got it for 2 bucks Canadian. Rearmed is great too and available for about the same price.
>>319519485
>>319519640
>>319519719
I really need to get around to playing that. It's been sitting in my library for awhile.
>>319519719
I'd only bother if the online community was somehow still active.
>>319519664
It's "ok". There's a lot of stupid hitscan weapon moments with the enemies, and I don't believe checkpoints were pretty frequent. Stage design wasn't the greatest either since the purple fog of death limited your freedom of movement/traversal.
>>319519664
I enjoyed it quite a bit. Especially once you mastered the arm and use it for combat.
>MFW people complain about running out of ammo
>>319509727
Yes, it's called Just Cause
>>319519485
>>319519640
Looks like Deadpool flying around lol. Fuck I want a good Deadpool game
>You will never play BC09 online again

>>319519273
>>319519625
I'm going to sleep but steam name is JoocyMan in case you actually wanna trade for the game
>tfw played Spider-Man 1 the movie game on console
>tfw played Spider-Man 2 the movie game on DS
Two of the biggest piles of shit ever
>>319520075
Marvel Ultimate Alliance has the best Deadpool voice. I can't really read Wade in Ryan Reynalds or Nolan North.
>>319520074
You don't even swing in that game, mostly just zip.
>>319520285
Playing as Green Goblin in sp1 was 2fun back then though
Also the oscorp level was 2spook
>>319520457
>girlnextdoor cheat
>see first lesbian kiss
>>319520457
I don't even remember that. Oddly enough I do recall the oscorp level
>>319520357
Ryan Reynolds is perfect imo. Is that game good btw?
>>319520626
It was fun as hell. My team usually consisted of Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, Deadpool and Logan.
>>319520525
>>319520592
Surely you remember
THE YOYO
>I could never fucking do it man
>>319520626
I'm still doubtful for Deadpool movie. Trailer didn't sell on me but I'm hoping for a surprisingly good movie.
>>319520626
Fucking great game. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I really enjoyed it. Waaaaaaaaay better than 2 and most other games of that genre. Was also fun as shit to play with friends
>>319520750
>Be playing Spider-Man 3
>Move dedicated to Spider-Man's yoyo/upsidedown swing stance
Shit combat but man did that surprise me. WoS had one too but it was harder to pull off.
>>319509727
>Will there ever be another game as great as pic related?
ftfy
and no
>>319520843
>finish game
>realized you cause an apocalyptic disaster
fuck you too norse witch.
>>319520271
>tfw Grin never got the break they deserved
Yet another dev that succumbed to unreasonable demands to rush out licensed properties.
>>319520826
We'll see. The only way to really fuck up Deadpool is to remove the violence and it looks like that's intact.
>>319515778
The gamecube had the game as well with only 1 more button than the vita. Im sure they could find some way.
>>319520997
Well didn't they become Overkill or Starbreeze and come out with Payday2? I know it's going down the micro transactions path but fuck if it hasn't been successful.
>>319520280
Alright I sent you a friend request If you're still there.
>>319520998
Eh, I think it's the dialogue and jokes that can ruin it. Remember the Waypool game we got?
I was partly hoping that the movie follows the oneshot X-Men Origins: Deadpool comic.>knock knock
>who's there?
>Wade...
>!
>Wade who?
>Wade till you see what happened to me, dad...
>>319520984
Some of the choices in that game were lose-lose. It really opened my eyes as a child; I realized sometimes even the heroes don't always win.
>>319521105
Starbreeze owns Overkill. Overkill was ex-Grin founders. Part of Grin's staff that did Rearmed left and formed Fatshark, who also did the unfortunately lame Rearmed 2.
>>319521268
Ty anon.
Did any of yall ever play this?
I am doing my life a grave disservice by attempting to platinum ASM2. Grinding XP for all these suits is taking its toll.
Nevermind the comic book grind afterwards.
>>319521480
You may as well kill yourself and get it over with desu
>>319521480
Why are achievement/trophy hunters even a thing? I hate it sometimes yet I feel so compelled to collect them. Props for forcing yourself to do that one m8, my worst one was probably Dark Souls plat
>>319521771
I don't know, and I haven't had an itch to plat something in forever. I think I just have a glutton for punishment, and that ASM2 was beaten in what felt like four hours.
>>319521370
was this game good?
>>319521480
I know exactly how you're feeling man
I gave up. I couldn't handle anymore of the costume grinding.
>>319513720
This guy knows what's up. As someone who was a big fan of the web-slinger, I always found this game and the Spider-Man Movie game on Xbox to be the two best games for this franchise. The PS1 game felt more true to the comics on a visual standpoint along with some funny cutscenes and great level design. And let's not forget, this is the only video game that has KID-MODE as a difficulty setting.
The Spider-Man Movie game was great because the controls were fluid, overworld map of NYC was huge where you could even walk across the street with cars and people moving about, awesome villains like the Shocker and Scorpion make appearances native to this game, and my favorite, cheat code gives you the opportunity to play the Green Goblin as a bonus campaign.
>>319522015
I think I'd take another 700 some bloody comic pages and no suit grinding from ASM1 over 300 pages + grinding.
Might save the XP farming for when I got podcasts lined up. I haven't had something mindless to play lately to listen to something alongside.
I hope you didn't play the inferior version my friends
>>319522112
>And let's not forget, this is the only video game that has KID-MODE as a difficulty setting.
Does a difficulty labeled Kid that'll still kick your ass count?
>>319522156
Didn't the Gamecube release have the most stable framerate of the three though?
>>319522112
What are you talking about mang? You couldn't drop down to ground level in the Spider-Man movie game; if you dropped below like midway down a building Spidey was kill
>>319522258
Shit, I forgot Viewtiful Joe had a Kid-Mode as well. I watched a friend in college play this game on Adult Mode, because he was pretty good at this game, but damn by the time he got to the third boss the game kept giving him the constant backhanded treatment.
>>319522156
so XBOX the best?
>>319522339
No, it had the least stable
>>319522339
It did not.
The Xbox version was the best version.
>>319522386
I must thinking of the second movie game.
>>319509727
>Activision still owns the vidya rights for Spiderman
>tfw they'll never bother putting SM2 on PS4
>>319522743
Yeah, it never made sense to me that you couldn't drop to ground level in the first game.
>>319520741
mine was Deadpool, Moon knight, Ghost rider and Blade.
It's such a fun game
>>319522981
wasn't that because of the toxin?
alsoRUUUUUUUUUUN
>>319509727
i have a fond memory of this game. i used to go to my friends house who had this, and we played a lot of it. but i could never do the stairstep kick combo and he always was able to do it. wish it was on ps3

God damn I'm so happy this game exists. Hulk is my favorite super hero by far and to have such a ridiculously fucking good game about him warms my heart.
No other super hero game really made me feel like the hero I'm playing like this one. Sm2 and arkham did a damn good job, but fuck my ass nothing beats leaping through the city destroying anything standing in my way or ripping a car in half to punch the fuck out of a giant robot with or leaping onto a helicopter and riding it into the ground or throwing a tank a mile away or punting a fucking cow into a gas station and blowing it the fuck up
FUCK I love this game man. Make another one please

are those the rhinos from kungfu panda?

But he's in the Lego marvel game. He should be in the Disney game.
