the DS version blew me away. Loved the SNES game but never finished it and got CTDS, and man they did a great fucking job on it.

Why is this game such a sore spot to JRPG enthusiasts? Is it because it's popular? Other genres have popular games that aren't the best in the genre, but you don't see the enthusiasts of those genres getting as salty as JRPGfags about CT.
