1 - Console have GCN AMD GPUs
2 - FreeSync now supports HDMI
Only thing left are TVs with FreeSync
FreeSync for consoles will come eventually
>instead of having a unified open source solution for ALL screen manufactorers we have this FreeSync™ and G-SYNC™ crap
Fuck this gay earth.
What's next, a GPU exclusive display port?
>>319440663
FreeSync is a standard built with AMD and VESA. G-Sync is 100% Nvidia
>>319440854
So I can use freesync with a nvidiya card, but not g-sync with AMD card?
>>319440663
freesync is open source
>>319439904
>freesync needs games to stay over 40fps
freesync is never coming to consoles
>>319439904
""FreeSync through HDMI will be supported on all AMD APUs and GPUs that already support FreeSync via DisplayPort"
Freesync only works on GCN 1.1+ GPUs, and both consoles use GCN 1.0.
>>319441154
You could, had NVIDIA supported DisplayPort 1.2a in their maxwell cards, which they decided not to for obvious reasons.
There's nothing stopping nvidia from supporting FreeSync. They just don't want to
>>319441154
Only if nvidia wants to support, hell even intel supports freesync
Also aren't consoles gcn 1.0 and free sync only supports 1.1 and above
>>319441415
this. my 7950 doesn't support it.
>>319441154
if nvidia wanted to they could, but how would that entice people to buy their gsync monitors, which they make profit off of through proprietary hardware and licencing? they want your sheckles

> On the graphics front any Radeon card outputting over HDMI 1.2, or later, will have the ability to support FreeSync over HDMI, albeit with an updated driver.
Consoles have HDMI 1.4a and AMD already got it working using that standard 6 months ago

Correction, Freesync over DP is a VESA standard.
Freesync over HDMI is an AMD proprietary extension.
>>319439904
> freesync over hdmi announced
> the only implementations are on PC monitors that could have used displayport freesync anyway, with better resolution and no licencing fees
literally why release this until TV manufacturers are on board
