The first five Heroes of Might and Magic games are on sale on GOG right now. Which ones are worth getting? I've never played a game in the series before.

2,3,4,5 are good, never played the first one but i think isn't worth it
3 is quite universally considered to be the best
2,3,5 are all wonderful games.

22 3 and maybe 4, haven't played 5 and the original is meh, has it novelty though

2 is a direct improvement on 1 so 1 isn't really worth getting.
3 does some things different and right
Nobody likes 4 for the gameplay - Only the music
5 is the best modern one
6 and 7 are garbage
if you going to only get one, get either 2 or 3, 3 has some better graphics and a little more advanced game play
2 was probably the best games i had ever played when i first got it
5 is really only worth it with the expansions

What do you actually do in these games?
1, 2 and 3 are all masterpieces and have stood the test of time. Feel free to start with any one of them, though for someone unfamiliar with the series I'd recommend 3.

Anon youare so right it hurts. 1 and 2 still appeal to me today. Moreso than 3. 2 might just be ageless

5 = Best 3D homm
6 = uplay
7 = uplay
3 and 5 are GOAT
After downloading a map pack with 5000 maps in it, I still play HOMM3 and see new things. Fucking map packs, ruined my life.
