I don't get all the whining about sidequests, I don't think I would be able to play an MMO or shittier arpg after this with their generic as fuck shit sidequests.
I found a ton of enjoyment in the little things about questing here.

Alchemy and crafting was rather poor.
Though with alchemy, i'm not sure how it could be made better. I kinda want to have to make new potions from scratch after using up a batch, but that could quickly turn into a chore ending up with me never consuming any potions to avoid it once i get bored from collecting the ingrediences

alchemy is mostly poor because the entire point was lost in it. its strong, but its not needed and there is nearly no reward to preparing for a battle. i do think preparing was a bit cumbersome in 2 and could use some work, but in 3 its nearly pointless. instead of just working it differently, they abandoned it.

The music is okay but the way it constantly loops is bad. They needed a lot more variety since you spend a lot of time running around the game world.
In Skyrim for example the soundtrack isn't that great either, but you're not constantly hearing the same few minutes of music again and again while exploring which is a better approach. (though I remember the battle music being pretty annoying)

My ears are trained, I might not be able to call it the most intricately expressive piece, it's not genius, but it fits the game perfectly, the music is very exciting in the context of the game. The context of what's happening in the game does tend to matter when the piece is being written specifically for that moment. Taking that context away is like taking away the context of the artists situation when writing a more traditional orchestral piece.
