They probably will mostly be based on either other FF7 party members or other FF protagonists. Similar to how, for example, Lucina's alts are based on other FE:Awakening units.

Way I see it, either 7-1 or 4-4 with classic-to-AC ratio.
Wouldn't be surprised if they were inspired by NES/SNES FFs. At the very least, I can picture a light blue Cloud with more golden hair (Blue Mage) or a red Cloud with red hair (Fighter). Maybe the colors of the SOLDIER class uniforms (blue/red/purple), or a pure Black with Silver hair Sephiroth outfit like Dark Link has. Or just the FFVII cast colors in general.
Who knows, maybe they'll go all out and we'll have Cloud-AC-CC-KH1-Zack-Lightning-Dress-Wheelchair as his alts.

He probably used Zack's style as a sort of baseline but found his own style relatively fast.
Zack seemed to have his own reservations or code about using the Buster Sword thanks to Angeal's "use brings about wear, tear, and rust." That would affect how Zack used it. Cloud on the other hand used the fuck out of the Buster Sword so I would argue that Cloud's more aggressive than Zack whom is a bit more reserved.
Dress alt for comedy, zack alt would be cool, and Kingdom Hearts 1 cloud would be sweet. KH Cloud has a chance I think since that's what he's wearing in chain of memories on the DS
