I don't really know. But E3 died around 2008.
When print media died. Then the ME3 debacle was the final nail in the coffin.

Shit it was dead long before that. back in the Amiga days.

There is no such thing as gaming journalism.
What we call gaming journalism is just another form of advertising.
So in that sense, it never died since it never existed.

GG. When one person decided to be a slut. One tried to save face. And /v/ went full /a/.
Because of this event, gaming as a whole is ruined.
It was never alive.

finally someone fucking gets it
Before internet gaming magazines were ok.
Now since people arent paying to buy 5-10 euro magazine in exchange for good product they get shit clickbait bloggerism for free.

Just because you throw money at a product does not mean that product will have any kind of quality standard.
It made it easier for consumers to ''promote'' good shit but it didn't weed out all of the shitty products by default.
it was never alive in the first place
It was always bad but the things that are wrong with it have changed over time.

If you pay for something theres an expectation of quality. Also the journalists had to keep up the standards if they wanted to get their work printed.
mmm 2007

Go read reviews from IGN in 1997-8. It was always shit.
Print media was a little better, but the fact of the matter is that it was always shit.
