Getting on 3DS because touchscreen + I don't own a Vita.
Also, even though it had higher resolution, I didn't like how the game looked on the Vita because it showed how low poly the models are. 3DS lower resolution hides that fact better.

VLR was hella toned back in the death scenes compared to the majority of 999.

The most gruesome stuff in 999 were the bodies of X and 9th man blowing up but overall the rest was pretty much the same as some VLR deaths like being stabbed, sliced neck or skewered by a spear.
Yeah, the "tone" was a bit watered down because higher ups but ZE3 isn't going to be toned down.
