after you beat Ludwig he refers to hunters as "honorable spartans". This means that Sparta was around at some point in Bloodborne's timeline.

here is the dialog

https://youtu.be/yETZWErwFa8?t=21s

let's see Vatti and ENB refute this lore
>>
>>318781452
no you are so wrong it is laughable he meant master chief's spartans not some unknown greek dudes
>>
>>318781452
It's an easter egg and gives hint on From's next game about Spartans and such
>>
>>318781452
Enb an vaati would whoop u in a fight u lil fuckfuck, u think u them but u r not u are not as smart or cool as and will never be as them

Definition of SPARTAN

2
: a person of great courage and self-discipline

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spartan

>What could it mean??
>300 confirmed for Bloodborne crossover
>>
>>318783464
Where do you think the word originated from u dolt
>>
>>318783604
>games in another world calls dirt "earth"
>LORE FUCKING RUINED
>>
>>318781452
Soviet Union is in the same universe as Bloodborne
>>
>Molotov
What did they mean by this?
>>
>>318783737

>>
>>318783065
He literally died hundreds of years ago, anon.
>>
>>318781452
Dude you know what else exists in both universes? Humans! They can't possibly have both evolved so similarly in both universes. fucking shit lore
>>
>>318785351
this is such a normalfag response its not even funny
im pretty sure its bait but it just triggered me, you just put ";^)" into words.
>>
>>318785039
This is my favorite theory, even before the game released. Deepest lore.

>Bloodborne is the story of a depressed individual living in one of the poorer areas of the USSR during the cold war.
>Elements such as beasts, angry city folk, and molotovs are the signs of real life troubles the individual faced daily, personified in a dream state.

except all the victorian architecture and the fact that its based on lovecraftian motifs (such as it being in england)

also you just like the idea of it being ussr because of your own headcanon. it doesnt actually add anything to the game.

the literal only connection there may be which is flimsy at best, is the use of molotovs, but for some reason your idiot mind would rather believe everything else is retroactively russian, based on the bottles. rather than the bottles just being molotovs in britain, as everything else is british.

does that mean it takes place in london? not necessarily, but to imply these are russian archetypes (especially for the cold war) is absolute lunacy.

its influences are well known and no secret.

god i hate headcanons so fucking much it drives me up the fucking wall
>>
>>318785823
former Sovietland literally has 1 (one) gothic building, a wooden church.
>>
>>318786235
Calm down I said it was before the game came out.
You can find Gothic structures all over Europe but Molotovs are genuinely from a certain place.
>>
>>318786601
yes but the "technology" of putting a flammable liquid on a rag into a bottle isnt a russian kgb secret
>>
>>318786601
>Molotovs
yeah, Finland
>>
>>318786718
Then Fromsoft should have used a different name.

I recall that one blind man claimed he started the great fire of London by tossing what is basically a firebomb or a molotov. Now that would be in-place (actual London).
>>
>>318786601
molotov cocktails weren't invented by russia, retard
>>
So I guess that means Master Chief takes place in the same timeline as Bloodbourne.
>>
>>318786235
>i hate headcanons so fucking much it drives me up the fucking wall
Yet you think there is actually deep lore in the games? Come on. Like 80% of the generally accepted lore for any Souls game is fan theory.
>>
>>318782042
>Bloodborne is on Xbox One now

Whoa... gg Sony...
>>
>>318786961
>>318786832
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov
Sure.

First link there leads to the soviet man and it states that Finns named Russian supply drops Molotovs.
>>
>>318785823
By your logic the game could be about a typical depressing day in Finland
>>
>>318787240
>Russian supply drops

What the fuck are you on about?

The whole name was meant to ridicule a politician named as Molotov
>>
>>318787646
>The Molotov cocktail is a term coined by the Finns during the Winter War, as a generic name used for a variety of improvised incendiary weapons.[85] During the Winter War, the Soviet air force made extensive use of incendiaries and cluster bombs against Finnish troops and fortifications. When Molotov claimed in radio broadcasts that they were not bombing, but rather delivering food to the starving Finns, the Finns started to call the air bombs Molotov bread baskets.
>>
>>318788106
Molotov bread basket =/= Molotov cocktail
>>
>>318786931
we have to consider the translation as well though
>>
>>318785823
Holy shit BRAVO KOJIMA
>>
>mfw nobody remember that NPC is Demon's Souls who mentions virgin Mary
>>
>>318788280
But I'm not arguing that's the description of Molotov Cocktail under the Vyacheslav Molotov page.

My original point was that before Bloodborne came out, I and other anons fun posted about the idea of having "Molotov Cocktail" as a usable weapon in Bloodborne.

We thought it was ridiculous because this game takes place in a fictional Victorian era city where Molotov, the man, didn't exist or wasn't born yet.

And then an anon mentioned, "maybe its a dream".
It was fun speculating. But it goes to show that sometimes, its just a game.
>>
>>318783604
Well you have the latin word Spartanus. So which came first? Sparta, or latin? Unless you have a time machine, you can't tell me the answer to that since there isn't enough recorded evidence, and they are too close in time periods.
>>
>>318783604
Why do they speak english if it's in a different universe
>>
>>318788761
the latin noun spartanūs or its respective adjective is directly referring to sparta
>>
>>318788761
>american education
>>
>>318788761
if you open a latin dictionary and search for spartanus it'll show you its etimology
>>
>>318790596
>american education
Are you saying that European education teaches you that a lack of written history, thus resulting in theoretical knowledge, is 100% accurate? God damn, and I thought American education was horrible.

>>318790789
>something written around 3000 years after the fact is guaranteed to be accurate
Fuck off.
>>
>>318781452
I don't get why this would change anything or be meaningful.

Ludwig the Accursed is fucking bullshit.
>>
>>318791201
it was not "written 3000 years after"
with due modification to the language, latin has been around from ancient times and was strong till renaissance, it's used even today by the catholic church.
the etimology is well documented, and based off latin authors and scholars
>>

Ancient Greece is in our universe.
