>Swords do more damage than guns

A lot of games would lose their fun factor if they were realistic.
>A relatively small piece of metal punctures through your flesh, may not even hit vital organs, and exits on the other side
>A broad blade shreds its way through your flesh, rupturing organs and severing arteries on its way
The only time a bullet is going to "deal more damage" than getting stabbed with a large blade is if it hits the head or directly at a vital organ.

Hey we had this thread like what 4 hours ago ? Can you fuck off now ?

What if I told you that a large impact from a sword or similar bladed weapon could also cause hydrostatic shock? What if I talked about mass, acceleration, and energy transfer? What about decapitation?
>>318778617
You'd be wrong. Almost no small arms calibers have a high enough velocity to impart any relevant amount of hydrostatic shock. It's not a broken theory, it just doesn't apply to real world technology at the moment.

>there's a deadzone for crossbows
>if someone gets too close, you can't shoot
I'd think getting your arm sliced off is more deleterious for your health than getting your arm shot.

except if it's a hollowed point bullet, then you're veritably fucked

It's an arcade mechanic to balance the gameplay. Charging with a sword against an enemy who's shooting your ass off must have a reward.
You posted this yesterday
>>318774637
I mean, a single sword blow would more likely than not do more damage than a single gunshot wound.
Instead how about you consider the following
>knife does more damage than gun in FPS
Is the same thing
>>318779390
>Charging with a sword against an enemy who's shooting your ass off must have a reward.
>must have a reward
Doesn't seem to work too well in real life in the age of semi-automatic weapons..
>>318779350
you see Ivan, when of using hollow point in boolet, one boolet is of becoming eight boolet. Is like having eight kalashnikov!
>Swords deal more damage than Katanas
>>318774637
A single sword swing would fuck you up more than a single gunshot wound, yes.
The advantage of guns comes from the fact that they're ranged attacks and the projectiles travel faster than a person can possible dodge them.
>>318774637
Can you even cut through bone with a sword?
>>318779736
It works.
>>318779736
>Doesn't seem to work too well in real life
exactly
it's video games you retard, nobody but normalfags give a shit about reality
>>318780559
it just works
>>318780558
depends on a lot of things like the sword itself, the person using it, which bone (your collarbone is a lot less tough than your femur)
but yeah it should be possible
