It's a horror game so i let it slide. For some reason the gore in that game does not seem gratuitous to me, i feel like it belongs. Plus it's being inflicted on you and not you inflicting it on others.

That's a scene where you fail so you get the gore scene, and that's fine. In general I don't like when games reward you with gore scenes when you make a headshot or a taedowns or something, it's supposed to be something you don't want to see so when it happens so many times I'm not "scared" or just don't give a fuck anymore like it's nothing.

It was probably because of the style of the sprites, but the deaths in Devil Survivor always seemed a bit bad.
Keita's, Jungo's, Keisuke's, and Io detonating were all surprisingly brutal.

This was gruesome as fuck.
Even though it's not gory i always found shooting soldiers in MGS2 to be pretty brutal, especially headshots.

All the player did was shoot him in the head. He's heavily implanted, to the point where I'm pretty sure his metal armor is actually a dermal implant, and all the implants seem to fail or malfunction on his death. That's why it looks like his body is ripping itself apart.

In The Legend of Zelda, the very first one, Ganon's death surprised me. He explodes into a pile of meat and the triforce just rests there, not even floating magically the way babies like. Just a slab of gold on blood.
