It's from japan. Why does a small amount of anime-style characters make kids mad? Marth and his game is actually older than 90% of the people who play the smash 4.
It's more the fact that they're all in the same artstyle and attack similarly since you can only be so unique with just a sword. Meta Knight doesn't get flak because he is a completely different artstyle and Ike doesn't get any because he plays totally different, but when you have 3 Marths then people get upset.
