Usually when you get perks like Bonus HtH combat damage and stuff like that then it picks up. Just keep upping your unarmed stats along the way and use things like brass/spiked knuckles or a power fist if you can grab one somewhere. Maybe get a companion who can give you some assistance (Sulik at Klamath, Vic at the Den)

Oh man, I forgot ED-E. ED-E's backstory is top-tier, especially consideringThe player probably massacred his beloved master with everyone else in FO3. Considering the Enclave were depicted as moustache-twirling villains whenever you met them in-game, it was nice to see them given characterization in a game Bethesda didn't even make.
