How are your puppets coming along? I recently made it to Hell and it feels like all the trainers are underleveled as hell. Maybe the lategame's balanced around you switching to higher cost puppets over time instead of running the same team all game long.
Apparently end game is where it gets hard now. After Remilia its a cake walk, but still fun.

Marisa and Aya are technically some volt-turn shit, but it probably worked better on my first playthrough with Chen and Sekibanki. Also Aya is probably too strong but I got her late so she's under-leveled.
Murasa has good typing as a dragon dance sweeper thing, Kaguya for special kill/special wall, and Nazrin for more coverage and muh rocks.
Defense Kosuzu is literally a walking meme, 10/10 would recommend.

Also the wiki is less than perfect when it comes to moves. It left out that Speed Miko gets a focus version of Ultra High Tone, which is pretty pretty fucking crucial to her movepool.

That's why Protect is there. There's a 2/7 chance I get something that makes it very possible for me to live 1 attack. During that, I simply heal then Protect again. The only way you are OHKO'ing me is if I get bad rolls, which is possible. However, if you can't do that, not only will she die, everything else will die. That is not the case with Protean on Kokoro is not nearly as good as Protean on Greninja simply for the fact that she has 60 base speed, so even if you were able to kill my Kokoro, whatever I pulled out next would smash her. So at best, with a Protean Kokoro, you are looking at one kill potential kill (if Kokoro v Kokoro was the first matchup), or 1 kill (v slower 2hu). Meanwhile Moody Kokoro can wipe an entire team.

It's not about increasing the grind though, but increasing the difficulty of battles. Right now the average enemy trainer has only 2 touhou, so if you want to fight the same trainer with 6 touhou they're going to give 3 times as much EXP. If you raise their touhou's levels then they give even more than that.
If you want actually challenging trainer battles then you're going to need to heavily nerf EXP gain to balance it, otherwise you'll have like level 30 puppets by the time you leave the human village.

Judging by what we know of the unreleased Comiket 89 build, we can already infer most of what we've done is going to need to be scrapped. Of the confirmed additions, it was mentioned that several frames would be added to talk sprites, similar to how Touhou games have like 4 or 5 sprites for cut ins before and after boss fights. We already got a glimpse of how FoLens is adding them in, and in short we've deduced that it'll be impossible to copy over the translated files exactly - we'd have to copy each line individually. But we can't even do that, because the released pamphlet also confirmed additions to the story, so we have no idea if dialogue is being changed or modified in any way. Meaning we'll need to actually replay the game and check for any differences between our translation and the new build.
That just accounts for the script, which will be the hardest part. There's also the fact that we're getting several new Puppets, some of which will have the new type, which also means new skills willl be added. Potentially new abilities too. There's also additional changes to the exe that'll need to be made and that could take a while as is, since our main exe rigger is also backed up by school, and a soon-to-be full time job.
tl;dr shit sucks and we're dreading the c89 build.
