Make no mistake. The PS4 has a graphical advantage over the xbone, but it's a slight advantage. This level of desparity really due to poor optimization for the console that's selling less. It isn't worth the publisher's time and money when they can just port it over quickly and be done with it.
When we take a look at the exclusives, we can see that the X1 looks roughly as capable as the PS4, though not quite on par.
How is this happening? Don't they basically have the same exact specs? It's not like with the ps3 difference where you had half the memory available and a cpu made of unknown alien technology.

I can understand buying a multiplat game like COD on console if that's the version most of your friends have, but using digital foundry articles as ammo in console wars when the PC version of those games VASTLY outperforms the console varients is just pathetic.
Sonyggers in particular have been bad about this lately, and I suspect it's due to them having the inferior versions of multiplats for the last two generations, but honestly nobody cares. That's not what sells the consoles and it's not a factor as long as the PC version looks better, which it always does.

TL;DR the PS4 has enough of a market lead that it's the only version devs care about optimizing for. This has happened in every generation. If the PS4 had been leading the 360 for most of the generation, devs would have taken the time to figure out the cell, but it was getting trampled in sales for most of the generation so devs didn't care.
It blows my mind that I actually used to care about stuff like this. I feel really bad for you guys who still have to buy multiplats on console.
