The Wii U died the same year it got popular.
Meaning, Nintendo wrote off the console a few months it started becoming popular. I remember going to Best Buy and seeing Wii U whites just sitting on the floor. No one wanted it. Nintendo even considered the console to be busted. Something changed black friday two years ago. It started being bundled with games and selling.
Anyway, as a Wii U owner, I've not touched Mario Maker, Splatoon, nor plan on getting XBX.
I've enjoyed Bayo2, W101, SSB, and Dong Freeze. The games like Star Fox, XBX and Zelda that just kept getting delayed just make me lose interest and any "hype" I had for said games.
I'm on 5.4 waiting for the exploit to release.

Ranked modes are fucking intense and if you don't know the map well or what weapons work best with what modes, then you're gonna fuck over your entire team and nobody will get anything.

I don't think it's really in that tier. We're not talking about a party minigame here. There's virtually no local multiplayer, and the main draw is online matchmaking, which isn't exactly a hallmark of casual games. Just because the matches are short does not mean that the game is casual.
