The game looks unremarkable. I've been calling it shit for a while, and I'll admit that at least when they cut a trailer together of all the stuff they're confident in, it doesn't look like garbage, but it still doesn't look exceptional. If you want to succeed Mega Man, you need to be exceptional.
On top of that, gameplay mechanics talked about in the original kickstarter pitch didn't make it into the final game, despite the game exceeding it's funding. This makes the developers look like they didn't think their pitch through enough, which reflects poorly on their ability to put the game together properly.
The fact that it's been delayed multiple times, to the point where even a demo that was supposed to be released as an apology for the delay, then got delayed. This also reflects poorly on the game, but at the very least, the fact that it's being delayed shows some amount of dedication to making it good. Even if they fail to deliver a good game, they probably tried at least a little.
Also, every single aspect of Red Ash makes Mighty No. 9 look worse in retrospect.
