Not really, I bought a PS4 specifically for it but wouldn't care either way. I bought it because I couldn't wait to play it. Same reason I played DaS on xbox since it wasn't on PC and then eventually when it did come over, it was plagued with GFWL bullshit.

Easily the most difficult.
This is debatable among the fan base since many people learned how to not use a shield early on, but without that crutch it is difficult for new comers. Hell, saw my friends who have beaten all souls on multiple NG+ get destroyed multiple times in the first 30mins.
This, coupled with chalice dungeon (optional) bosses make this game brutal at times.

Well, yeah. They changed the systems entire infrastructure and even fired the top guy because of negative feedback, and since the consoles launch they've done nothing but show they've been listening and making the console better based on feedback. They've done enough to be forgiven at this point. I'm only kind of disappointed in Sony because they don't really update the PS4 nearly as much as Microsoft updates the Bone.

Yes, very much. You can navigate through menus using just the mouse and first-person aiming is really fast. The default keybindings are stupid though.
ONE major issue that is that there is an input delay after each mouse click because the game is trying to detect double-clicks. This means that

As someone who was always most comfortable playing the Souls games without a shield, I think it's actually quite a bit easier than Dark Souls 2, mainly because of the more forgiving healing and stamina regeneration. But it's obviously a steep adjustment to have to make if you're used to using tower shields and heavy armor. Plus, the DLC is hands-down the hardest that the Souls series has ever been.

The learning curve is definitely the steepest. Even without the reliance on armour/shields the faster combat mixes the formula up severely. Having to be more on the offensive to regain health rather than moving away to a safe distance to heal/asses. Enemies are much faster this time around too. Though I much prefer the combat in BB, when it's good, it's really good.

I haven't played Bloodborne in a couple of months, and even though I haven't replayed any of the other Souls games in the meantime either, I still found myself sinking into bad habits, like backdashing away from enemies after taking slight hits, and fishing for openings when I could be attacking. Bloodborne plays by its own rules, and it's really tough to adapt at first.
