its always sad when people just keep saying old is better because they refuse to accept progress even when fallout 4 is the best game in the series TO DATE.

it isn't, but you're right that people think it's better because it's old. Used to be a lot of arguments that F3 was just better than NV for no real reasons. Better atmosphere, better quests, better locations, etc. Now it's so clear that F3 is shit and NV is the best. F4 is shit because it's popular. It's also shit because it's a streamlined casual pseudo-rpg fps with almost nothing done right or well like in previous fallout games but mostly because it's popular.
