>New AMD drivers lock fan speed to 20%
>Cards literally catching on fire
top kek
On one brand of card.
And will be fixed tomorrow
But that doesn't make for as good as shitpost kek lmao top lel etc etc

>A-AMD's catch fire too, guys!
Don't get me wrong, I use nVidia like all discerning gentlemen. But this kind of attack is below us.

>one brand
AMD.

>He thinks facts are an "attack"
AMD damage control. Their own forums are burning down with complaints of dead cards. Multiple threads on
I always wondered
Is there any benefit to lock the fan to 100%?
>>318342317
Lowest temps. Downside is high noise and somewhat more electricity used. And potentially over time you'd wear out the bearings in the fans.
>>318342539
But what are the advantage of low temps? Will the GPU actually run better? Or does it just decrease the chance of overheating?
>>318342661
Lower temps = Lower ambient temperature in the case = More room for overclocking.
Just a shame GPU fans are not easily replaced otherwise I'd be all for it.
>>318342935
Ah ok, thanks anon!
>>318342661
Yes the GPU runs better. When you hit high temps the GPU slows itself down to prevent burning out. At really high temps your whole computers shuts down to prevent damage.

Reminder that you're fucking retarded if you can't figure out how to turn off the set fan speed.
Nvidia shills blowing shit out of proportion.
