How does it hold up to Yoshi's Island?

It's good. Somewhat slower, good level design though.
There are some people who will pretend that YI was a super challenging game though and shit on WW even though they aren't that much different in terms of difficulty.

Seems that the fanbase is divisive on the game, as shown by these two anons, but I think it's the best Yoshi game since Yoshi's Island. Captures the feel of the original almost perfectly. My one major issue, though, is while level designs are always varied and keep things fresh, the new mechanics are almost never revisited and mixed together.
